Mission Viejo Nadadores Swimming

Mission Viejo Nadadores Swimming The Mission Viejo Nadadores is one of the largest swimming and diving clubs in the United States.

The team is located in Mission Viejo, California, training at the Marguerite Aquatic Complex. The "Nadadores" were started in 1968 and have had athletes at every Olympics since 1976. The team holds the record for winning the most team titles at the USA swimming Nationals, having won 49. At the 1984 Summer Olympics, Nadadores athletes won 13 medals (10 Gold)[1]. Notable alumni include: Brian Goodell, Shirley Babashoff, Mary T. Meagher, Robin Leamy, Greg Louganis, Amy Shaw, Ricardo Prado, Jesse Vassallo, Tiffany Cohen, Dara Torres, Larsen Jensen, Chad Carvin, Chloe Sutton, Mike O'Brien, Coach Mark Schubert, Coach Terry Stoddard, Coach Dr. Sammy Lee, and Hall of Fame Coaches Jim Montrella & Bill Rose. At the 2004 Summer Olympic Games, Nadadore Larsen Jensen (American Record Holder) captured a Silver Medal in the Men's 1500 freestyle. In 2007, the oldest swimming world record was broken by Kate Ziegler in the 1500m freestyle at the TYR Swim Meet of Champions, which the team hosts annually since 1970. In the 2008 Beijing Summer Olympics, Nadadores' Chloe Sutton become the first woman to represent the United States in the 10K Open Water Swimming "Marathon" Event.

We had such a blast at our annual swim clinic this past weekend! A chance to tune up your strokes, learn something new, and work with a coach outside your typical group, we look forward to it every year.

It's also the perfect segue to Blue vs. Gold spirit week - don't forget your silly socks!

What an incredible way to close out the summer season! 💙💛

Congratulations to all of our Nadadores who competed at the Summer Age Group Championships. Your hard work, dedication, and perseverance throughout the season were on full display, and we couldn’t be prouder of the way you represented our team.

Thank you to our coaches, officials, volunteers, and families for your unwavering support all season long. Your encouragement helped make this summer one to remember.

Last weekend, our Nadadores took on Elite Championships and SAG Max Championships, racing against some of the best competition and representing our team with pride. From first-time championship swimmers to seasoned veterans, every race is another opportunity to compete, improve, and cheer each other on.

🏅 Congratulations to our Senior Head Coach, Kevin Viliunas!

In his first year leading the Mission Viejo Nadadores Senior Program, Coach Kevin has been recognized as one of the 2026 ASCA 30 Under 30 Award recipients—an honor celebrating exceptional young coaches who represent the future of the swimming profession.

As part of this recognition, Coach Kevin will receive a full registration grant to attend the 2026 ASCA World Clinic presented by Fitter & Faster in Orlando, the premier annual event for coaching education and professional development.
Since stepping into the role, Coach Kevin has focused on building a program that develops not only faster swimmers, but stronger people. His leadership has emphasized athlete development through mindset groups, expanded athlete and parent education sessions, developed a more comprehensive dryland program, and meaningful opportunities for TEAM bonding within the Senior Division.

Congratulations, Coach Kevin, on this well-deserved recognition! We are excited for what the future holds for our athletes and our program. 💙💛

Our Nadadores brought the speed, the teamwork, and the excitement as they raced together in a fun-filled day of relays. Every exchange, every cheer, and every finish showed what it means to compete as one team.
