At Blue Moon Pilates Wellness and Education, we value our strong passion for helping others and creating unique programs that allow all fitness ranges to reach their goals. Blue moon has also been an ATC-authorized training center for the past 9 years hosting the internationally renowned Balanced Body education certification program offering Pilates Anatomy Balanced Body Barre MOTR BODHI and Core Align. We would love to help you become a Pilates instructor or foster your continuing education. Blue Moon is not just a Pilates studio. It’s a welcoming community of friendly clients and highly skilled trainers focusing on overall wellness. What makes a strong pilates practice?

It’s not always about the bells and whistles. And it’s not about finding extreme challenge that makes the body immediately tap out. It’s about the root of the method. The foundational movements and the original movement principles that Joesph Pilates initiated his method with. Fine tuning the “basic” movements is what will help your practice achieve greatness.

Our trainer, Laura, demonstrates opposite arm/leg reach. Maintaining pelvic stability, scapular stability, and deep core stabilization and strength.

Here’s our Pilates instructor, Angela, demonstrating a roll up variation of Parakeet on the trap table.

In this video she is rolling up while also maintaining control of the push through bar to straighten her legs at the same time. Another version of this would be to push the legs through to fully straighten before rolling up.
This exercise is a great tool for activating the full posterior chain and maintaining lumbopelvic control and stability throughout.
