Bojutsu (Japanese Staff Fighting) is now available on the Futen Dojo YouTube channel.

The staff is one of the oldest and most practical traditional weapons in Japan. In this video, you’ll learn where Bojutsu comes from, how it fits into the classical martial traditions, and why it remains an important part of authentic training today.

This is the 4th video in our 5-part introductory series covering the core Japanese martial arts taught within the Genbukan tradition.

In this concluding chapter of the Tanemura Family History series, we explore the life and legacy of Tanemura Sensei—from his early training and years as a Tokyo Metropolitan Police Officer to his mission of preserving authentic Japanese martial arts throughout the world.

We also look at the continuing role of Okayasu Hanshi and Tanemura Kōtaroh Hanshi in carrying these traditions into the future.

This is more than a story of martial arts.
It is a story of lineage, character, and the conduct of a warrior, Bufu!
