I have always wanted to make a trip and explore the Boundary Waters. The thought of disconnecting and doing some fishing, camping and filming in a completely different landscape just gets me excited. In the future I think this would be a great adventure to bring the boys on, but this trip is just me and momma. How lucky am I that the BWCA will be the second most beautiful thing there.

Stopped by my favorite to pick up supper for the family. This isn’t sponsored and no one has ever asked me to make a post about them (awfully pretentious of me to make it seem like I’m important enough on here for sponsored posts) BUT these guys have great quality meat and are huge in our community so I want to make sure everyone knows about them! A couple of years ago I walked in to with a mission: to find a turkey gun that was small and lightweight but also packed enough punch to reliably get the job done. After talking with Taylor in the guns section we decided on the Stevens 301 in .410 partnered with Fiocchi Golden Turkey TSS shells. This gun has been a hammer. Last spring I shot my bird at over 40 yards and this spring all three of us made short work of our turkeys. This isn’t an ad and Ol’ Aaron doesn’t get anything for promoting this gun or ammo. I just have a lot of confidence in the setup and think is an absolute blast to hunt with.

Turkey season was good to us this year. Life gets crazy and we certainly aren’t getting any less busy, but a few days in the woods has a way of slowing you down and reminding you to enjoy the moment. I guess it’s time to get the fishing rods ready!
