I love getting special projects to work on! Blake wanted something different and unique for his office desk. We talked about a couple of things and ended up going with a box call shaped name plaque, business card holder, and pen holder. Thank you for the opportunity to make a unique piece!

I was, and still am so happy I got to share a hunt with my neice this year and actually call her in a bird to harvest. She has logged hours in the woods over the past several years and was just never able to get everything to work out. Our hunt was wide open from the start to the end. It was only about 35 minutes from fly down to trigger time, but man did we see birds do about everything that morning. Long story short, I was able to get 12 big jakes in her lap at 7 yards and all of them gobbled right at her. Talk about a pounding on your chest when that happens. Here is the finished product.

Special morning getting to be beside my niece as she was able to harvest her first bird. This young lady has put in the time and just never could get everything to come together right until this morning. We had a couple of big birds working our way and this gang of big jakes(11 to be exact) ran them off and them proceeded to run around the hillside like Velociraptors chasing down 2 hens who didn't want any part of them. Then they found us and all of them in full strut marched to 7 yards, and the rest is history.
