SGLA HIkers:

We had another amazing hike this week to the top of Squirrel Hill at Minocqua Winter Park. The fall colors are still putting on a show!

Our next adventure will be on Wednesday, October 21st. We will explore Fallison Trail in Boulder Junction. The trail is off Hwy N between Hwy M and Sayner. Meet at the trailhead parking lot at 1:30pm.

2026 Book Club Season Wrap-Up.

The 2026 Book Club season ended on September 24th after another successful summer of great book discussions. At our last meeting, the group discussed the historical fiction novel Pachinko by Min Jin Lee.

Chris Denniston was our hostess and leader for a very fun evening. The discussion was very lively, and the treats had a unique Asian flair! It was a perfect season wrap-up.

The SGLA Book Club Committee also announced the 2027 summer reading line-up:

May 27th - The Briar Club Kate Quinn (Historical Fiction)
June 24th - The Names Florence Knapp (Fiction)
July 22nd - London Falling Patrick Radden Keefe (Non Fiction)
August 26th - The Lion Women of Tehran Marjan Kamali (Historical Fiction)
September 23rd - Yesteryear Caro Claire Burke (Thriller)

We encourage our readers to delve into these books over the winter and we look forward to seeing everyone next spring. Every SGLA member is welcome to the book club events. Happy Reading!

SGLA hikers,

We had an absolutely amazing view from Minocqua Winter Park during our hike yesterday! It was so beautiful that we plan to hike there again on Tuesday, Oct 13 at 1:30 pm (meet in the parking lot). All are welcome, it is such a gorgeous landscape to enjoy!

Hello SGLA hikers!

Our next hike will be today October 9th @ 1:30. We will hike up the hill at Winter Park to see the beautiful colors from the highest point in Minocqua. We will then be able to do some less challenging hikes on the trails at winter park. Meet at the Winter Park parking lot - hope to see you there.

Our final Ladies of the Lakes for the 2026 season was held at
Forestry Tap and Axe.

Many thanks to Kim and her staff for providing us with such a perfect and welcoming venue.

Delma was our hostess and no one spreads the love better. From her beautiful words of friendship to her warm and fuzzy party favors, it was a very special evening. Thank you, Delma. We are already looking forward to next season.
