Yoga and Acupuncture are natural compliments.
They work with the subtle energy of the body to offer balance and wellness. And during this time of year, when so many subtle shifts of seasons and routines are taking place, this Sunday's offering will be particularly supportive to the ways your body is asking for some care.
In Chinese Medicine, there is a fifth season - late Summer.
Governed by the earth element, this is a time for nourishment and grounding. The Spleen, responsible for all digestion in Chinese medicine, is the primary organ system of this season. When it's out of balance, you might notice bloating, digestive upset, or a tendency toward overthinking.
In this workshop, we'll support healthy movement for both your digestive system and your thoughts. We'll begin with gentle yoga focused on twists stimulate digestion and to cultivate grounding energy, then settle into an extended savasana.
While you are resting with the support of props at the end of class, Nicole and Shelby will offer an acupuncture treatment that supports the Spleen, aids the flow of digestion, and quiets the mind.
Shelby Pasell, LAc (she/her) is a licensed acupuncturist focusing on menstrual health, sports injuries, and pregnancy/fertility. She enjoys supporting folks with complex chronic conditions using acupuncture and herbs. (pictured in her office in Minneapolis)
