TEAM PRG Athlete Spotlight - Matt Van Donsel
"I tried personal training at PRG for the first time in 2022. As a runner who never needs motivation to get into the gym to do strength work, I wasn't sure how much it would benefit me. Having someone assess my workouts, identify areas for improvement, and guide my program to address those areas has been an amazing experience.
I had such a good experience with personal training at PRG in 2022 that I decided to try run coaching in 2023. In just the first few weeks of the year, my coach (shout out to Bobbi!) has helped me set a foundation for the year, pushed me to extend my comfort zone (hello, track meets), and is already starting to unlock a lot of the potential I knew I had but just didn't see in my recent race performances. I would recommend run coaching to anyone. People with big goals, people who are just starting, and people who want to re-energize their relationship with running could all benefit."
Goals Achieved in 2022:
"In 2022 I finished my first Superior 100. I also summited Hamperokken, the sixth highest peak in Norway, which has been a desire of mine since I raced there in 2017 and did not summit."
Upcoming Races for 2023:
"I'm headed back for another Superior 100! I'm also starting to race the mile on track, a totally new adventure for me. I plan to run track through the year as well as Zumbro 34, Afton 50k, and Voyageur 50 to prep for Superior."
