“The Alchemy of My Opposites”
I was wounded, I was healed,
By truths once hidden, now revealed.
Through pain’s soft hands, I came to find,
The tender power of a kinder mind.
Where I was cruel, I learned to care,
To see the hurt that placed me there.
Each thorn I grew became a sign,
That growth can ache and still align.
Once neglectful, cold, and numb,
I feared the place where feelings come.
But nurturing whispers through the night,
Taught me that gentleness brings back the light.
I built my walls, so guarded, tall,
Till vulnerability cracked them all.
Now strength is soft, not hard or loud,
It breathes in tears, unmasked, unbowed.
I once was suspicious, feared the fall,
But trusting hearts don’t lose it all.
They rise again, though once betrayed,
For faith is love that’s unafraid.
When I was guarded, holding tight,
Life dimmed to gray, it lost its light.
But generous hearts restore the flame,
And giving asks for nothing’s name.
Where once your lies was armor worn,
Now honesty has been reborn.
For freedom blooms when truth is said,
No mask, no shame — just soul instead.
I sacrificed till I was bare,
Then learned self-acceptance is self-care.
To give from fullness, not from pain,
Is how my sacred gifts remain.
My loyal heart once broke for lies,
In betrayal’s storm, I closed my eyes.
But truth within became my guide,
I will no longer abandon myself inside.
Authentic now, no longer fake,
I own the paths I chose to take.
Each flaw, each scar, each unhealed seam,
Are golden threads within my dream.
I called myself ugly, lost my grace,
Till beauty met me face to face.
It whispered softly, “You were whole,
Before the world misnamed your soul.”
When I was hopeless, I forgot my worth,
But hopeful hearts renew and rebirth,
Through shadow’s night, I’ve come to see,
Both dark and light belong to me.
