I didn’t have “shivering in my seat at Spring Training” on my 2026 bingo card, but here we are. Unusual cold front aside, it was a fantastic day watching the Twins @ Phillies on St Patrick’s Day!

Seeing a game at BayCare Ballpark is a gem of an experience. It’s not the best building of the Grapefruit League, but the little touches make it incredible. Friendly staff, TONS of food options and great sightlines everywhere.

My Small Ball scorebook worked like a charm, although i only kept score for the first five innings. We left our shaded seats in search of sunshine and food — I have just as much fun wandering around as I do watching balls and strikes.

For all you nerds, the Small Ball book fits as great in a sling as it does a back pocket. (I’m over 50, so I have to call it a f***y pack and not a sling.)

Highly recommended ballpark — be warned, it’s very expensive — but definitely a must-visit.

Getting ready for my first (and only) Spring Training game on Tuesday. I battled a nasty cold the first few days of my trip, and the temps have been blazing hot. I’m certainly not complaining — there’s many in my state that have snow literally up to their roofs — and it’s been so nice to unplug for a bit.

Tuesday will be cool, and I think this will be my first game at this stadium. Plus I have to test drive my own Small Ball book — of course I had to make mine yellow. Should I bring back the Bumblebee design for everyone?

A few weeks ago I quietly rolled out something new to my email subscribers: custom scorecard prints. I have always thought my scorebook cover art style could be fun as actual art prints, and I figured maybe three other people would like them too…

Yeah, whoops. I had a bunch of orders in the first three hours and a lot more after that. You all had amazing stories to go with each card commission. It’s been the most fun I’ve had in weeks. I just shipped my last card print order from the initial announcement, so we’ll try this for everyone. Here’s how this works:

– Prints are 11 x 17 on acid-free paper. Keep them out of direct sunlight, dump in a frame, and they should last for a long time.

– If you want the scorecard only, choose from an ever-growing list of games or request a custom game for just a little more scratch.

– If you want to really commemorate a baseball trip, grab a personalized scorecard and add your photos. This looks amazing — seriously — and makes one heck of a Christmas gift.

– I can only do so many cards before the holidays, so I may temporarily pause sales if these go bonkers.

There’s a seemingly infinite pool of talented baseball artists out there, and it’s a touch scary to put your art out there. I really appreciate all the love and support – y’all are keen and have made 2025 the best year yet for my humble scorebook biz.
