Minnesota Sentinels Hockey

Minnesota Sentinels Hockey For Military Veterans, Service Members, and First Responders who love hockey and are seeking an inclusive and friendly hockey family. "Keep The Watch"

MISSION - To provide a welcoming, safe, and enjoyable environment for Military Veterans, Active-Duty personnel, and all First Responders through the game of hockey. Minnesota Sentinels Hockey is dedicated to serving military veterans, active-duty members, National Guard, Reservists, and all First Responders. Our mission is centered on fostering camaraderie, promoting team building, and cultivating

a sense of belonging to a community greater than oneself. Join us and become a part of a military-based hockey team in the State of Hockey. We extend our invitation to all service members and veterans who have honorably served or are currently serving, including our disabled veterans. There is no requirement for prior hockey experience; all that's needed is a passion for the game and a willingness to join a special group of individuals. Our aim is to provide a safe space for physical activity and to facilitate meaningful connections among peers.

WE NEED ANSWERS.

The Minnesota Sentinels have stumbled upon a completely unnecessary question that absolutely must be settled.
And because we're apparently incapable of leaving well enough alone, we're taking it to the people.

You’re standing in a circle. Someone taps you on the head:
Duck.
Duck.
Duck.
……WHAT COMES NEXT?!
GRAY DUCK
Or
GOOSE

Yes, we understand that roughly 49 other states apparently believe the answer is “goose.”
Those states are wrong.
But in the interest of science, democracy, hockey, and determining who can actually be trusted in the locker room, WE NEED TO KNOW.
GRAY DUCK or GOOSE?
Drop your answer in the comments. Defend it if necessary. Question your friendships. Reevaluate your upbringing. Tag someone who inexplicably says “goose” so we can study them.
We intend to settle this critically important matter for at least the remainder of 2026.
Probably.
Duck. Duck. ________.
Choose wisely.

Some games are bigger than the scoreboard.

This Friday, September 11th, the Minnesota Sentinels take the ice against TCR Moose for our annual Honor & Remember Hockey Game.

Twenty-five years after September 11, 2001, we gather for something much bigger than hockey.

We skate to honor the fallen.
We skate to remember the day.
We skate for the families who never got to say goodbye.
We skate for the military members, first responders, and countless Americans whose lives were forever changed.

For a few hours, different uniforms don't matter. The final score doesn't matter.

Same people. Different uniforms. Still brothers.

Come spend the evening with us, enjoy some hockey, and help us make sure that 25 years later, we still remember.

THE LINE HAS BEEN DRAWN.

On one side: MINNESOTA.
Land of 10,000 Lakes, questionable hockey decisions, hotdish, and the firm belief that anything Wisconsin does, we can probably do better.

On the other: WISCONSIN.
Cheese. B**r. More cheese. And the Wisconsin Warriors, who apparently believe the AXE belongs on their side of the river.

Cute.

On November 14th, friendships will be temporarily suspended, state borders will be heavily judged, and the Minnesota Sentinels and Wisconsin Warriors will settle this the only reasonable way we know how:

Mediocre adult hockey for a giant wooden AXE.

This is the Veterans Border Battle — BATTLE FOR THE AXE V.

So we’re asking the important question…

WHICH SIDE ARE YOU ON?

TEAM MINNESOTA?
TEAM WISCONSIN?

Pick carefully. Families have been divided over less.

Drop your allegiance in the comments, tag your people, and start talking the appropriate amount of trash.

The border is open.

The trash talk is encouraged.

And somebody is going home without the AXE.

As Sentinel 4 slowly starts to figure out what the hell they're doing when it comes to 3D printing—and we use the phrase “figure out” VERY loosely—it’s actually pretty damn cool to look back and see where this nonsense started.

On the right, 2024 Battle for the AXE IV. One of the first things that was intentionally designed instead of just downloading something off the internet, hitting print, and hoping for the best.

On the left, the upcoming 2026 Battle for the AXE V.

A year separates the two.

A year of trial and error. Failed prints. Redesigns. Learning new tricks. Buying s**t was absolutely “needed.” Yelling at a machine that has no ability to feel shame. And making enough questionable decisions that somehow developed the dangerous belief that we might actually know what we're doing.

Do we?

Absolutely not.

But the evidence suggests improvement.

Battle for the AXE IV & Battle for the AXE V.

Same event. Same general idea. One more year of experience and significantly more confidence than my actual skill level probably warrants.

Progress is progress, Beauts.

One layer and one questionable decision at a time.

With the chaos and uncertainty that unfolded in Minneapolis yesterday, we made sure to take the time to reach out to members of our Sentinels family simply to make sure they were safe and accounted for.

Today, we want to quietly recognize and stand with the men and women of the Minneapolis Police Department, our fellow first responders, and everyone whose responsibility calls them toward danger when the instinct for most of us is to move away from it.

There are moments when hockey, rivalries, jokes, and everything else simply aren't important. What matters is knowing that the people who serve our communities make it home safely when their shift is over.

To our friends, teammates, and everyone working behind the badge, on the trucks, in the ambulances, in dispatch, and alongside them:

Stay safe. Look after one another. Come home.

The Minnesota Sentinels stand with those who continue to answer the call.

KEEP THE WATCH.

OFFICIAL STATEMENT FROM SENTINEL 6
I NEED ANSWERS.
WHO. THE HELL. IS RUNNING THIS SENTINEL LEAKER SOCIAL MEDIA ACCOUNT?!

Because whoever is currently behind the keyboard appears to be impersonating members of Minnesota Sentinels leadership while releasing documents that I can say, with 100% certainty, WERE NEVER SUPPOSED TO SEE THE LIGHT OF DAY.

Those documents were supposed to be BURNED.
Not shredded.
Not archived.
Not “saved just in case.”
BURNED.
And NOW I’m being informed that there may also be certain… photographs… circulating from “a few years back.”

I will not be commenting on those photographs.
I will not be confirming the authenticity of those photographs.
And I would strongly encourage everyone to remember that camera angles can be VERY misleading.
Also, costumes were involved.
Probably.

This organization has procedures. We have standards. We have a chain of command.
Apparently what we DO NOT HAVE is control of our own damn social media passwords.

Sentinel 4 claims he knows nothing.
Sentinel 3 suddenly “doesn’t have cell service.”

The Captains have stopped responding.
And somebody just changed the password AGAIN.
I want names.
I want answers.
I want to know WHO HAS THE FILES.
And most importantly…
WHO THE HELL KEPT THE PHOTOS?!
An internal investigation has begun.
Cooperation is mandatory.
Amnesty is no longer being offered.
HEADS. WILL. ROLL.

MINNESOTA SENTINELS: CHAPTER 4
The Chapter Where Somehow, Against All Better Judgment, We Kept Going

Narrated by Sentinel 6

And just like that…

Chapter Four comes to an end.

Another page filled. Another season in the books. Another year of Minnesota Sentinels hockey that, depending on who you ask, was either a tremendous success or compelling evidence that adult supervision should have been required.

Chapter Four had a little bit of everything.

Hockey.
Tournaments.
Team dinners.
New faces.
Old friends.
Great memories.
Terrible ideas.

And enough questionable decisions to make you wonder how this organization has survived four chapters in the first place.

There were even rumors of our demise.

Turns out…

those rumors were greatly exaggerated.

Because if four years have taught us anything, it's that the Minnesota Sentinels are remarkably difficult to get rid of.

We kept showing up.

We kept putting on the sweater.

We kept finding reasons to get together and play this ridiculous game we love.

And somewhere along the way, a simple Player of the Game tradition continued spiraling beautifully out of control.

We Battled for an AXE!

We played out side... Some would say it was brisk.

We became the Pink Pony Sentinels.

We went back to the glory days with the Old Time Hockey Sentinels.

We protected Minnesota's highways as the Super Trooper Sentinels.

And in perhaps the strongest argument against giving Mike PowerSerge creative freedom…

We became the Big Dill Sentinels.

What started as simple event tags—a little something to commemorate a game and thank the our players who showed up—has become something much bigger.

They're snapshots of Chapter Four.

Little pieces of plastic representing people, places, games, inside jokes and stories that will probably get increasingly inaccurate every time they're told.

And that's really what this chapter was about.

The memories.

Because years from now, nobody is going to remember the final score of some random Thursday-night skate.

But somebody will remember the locker room afterward.

The tournament.

The ridiculous theme.

The chirps.

The guy who forgot something important.

The save nobody expected.

The goal that gets better every time the person who scored it tells the story.

And the people standing beside them when it happened.

That's the Minnesota Sentinels.

And now…

it's time to turn the page.

Chapter Five is waiting.

And our fifth chapter begins with something that means considerably more than wins, losses or whatever nonsense we dream up next.

September 11, 2026.

Twenty-five years after a day that changed our country forever, we'll take the ice for our annual Honor & Remember Game.

We'll remember those who went to work that morning and never came home.

We'll honor those who ran toward danger when everyone else was running away.

We'll remember those who answered the call in the years that followed.

And we'll stand beside those who continue to serve today.

Because some things will always be bigger than hockey.

But hockey has a remarkable way of bringing people together.

And that's exactly what we intend to do.

To every player who pulled on a Sentinels sweater during Chapter Four…

To our families who continue tolerating this nonsense…

To our friends, opponents, partners, supporters and everyone who has followed along…

THANK YOU.

Thank you for giving us another chapter worth remembering.

Four chapters are now behind us.

The fifth is sitting there, waiting to be written.

There will be hockey.

There will be tournaments.

There will be new faces and familiar ones.

There will be memories we don't even know we're about to make.

There will absolutely be shenanigans.

And, despite numerous opportunities to learn from our mistakes, there will almost certainly be another completely ridiculous theme.

At some point, somebody will inevitably look around and ask:

"Who the hell thought this was a good idea?"

Don't worry.
We'll find someone to blame.
So close the book on 2025–26.
Put Chapter Four on the shelf.
And get ready.

Because it's time to turn the page.

MINNESOTA SENTINELS: CHAPTER 5
2026–27
The story isn't over.
In fact…

we're just getting started.

KEEP THE WATCH.
