Bear Paw Sumo Club

So with the all the injury issues being straightened out and the weather finally getting better, it has been decided that Bear Paw Sumo will have its first practice outdoors within the next few weeks. (Weather permitting of course). Stay tuned for more details about the date and time. I know things have been moving slow with the club but now that we can do more outside and maybe attract more people we can hopefully get the club growing again. As always fell free to DM or call/text.

To any team members that are wanting to go, please make sure you are a registered USSF member before registering for the event. I am for sure going so we can discuss it at practice or contact me with questions. Hope some of you if not all of you can make it . Vegas Baby.

This event will be held at the University of Nevada Las Vegas on December 11, 2021 and will serve as the qualifying event for The 2022 World Games, held in Birmingham Alabama. Had another practice tonight and had a new person come and join the team. I am happy to have Thai Lee on the team and pleased the effort he put during the practice. We will be having an outdoor practice next Sunday and one more normal practice before I am off to Nationals. Bear Paw continues to grow and is bigger than I expected at this point.

Well first practice is officially in the books. The new guys hung in there and I am sure they all realize how hard this sport is. I am of the three new members that showed up today and we did get a good amount of work in. On the flip side, I was going to film the practice but as I set the camera up, it just wasnt going to happen due to me forgeting the SD card that I was clearing room on at home. We did get some good pics and a little video and will upload what we got. There is always next time and Adam, Dillon, and Luke all said they will be there.

Here is a video I put together of Saturday's practice with Ohayo Sumo. Hope it turned out good since I am still new at editing video and trying out new software. Thanks again to Darius and Ben at Ohayo for the great practice and for helping me learn what I need to work at. (also watching video of yourself definitely shows yours flaws, lol)

Well the practice with the Ohayo Sumo Association was a great success and I couldnt be happier that I went. I have more knowledge on which direction I want to go with the club and with myself as a wrestler. Darius and Ben are great people and training with them have made me appreciate what they are doing and what I want to do here in Minnesota. Heading to Dayton to practice with Ohayo Sumo at their new chapter. Will get video of the practice and post for everyone. Wish me luck , its the first contact practice for me.
