For anyone looking to get basic skating skills, this is a great place to start!

🍂 Fall is a great time to learn to skate!

Registration is open for September and October Learn to Skate classes at Hartmeyer Ice Arena. Classes are held Wednesday evenings from Sept. 9 through Oct. 28, with two convenient time options:

⛸️ 6:30–7:05 p.m.
⛸️ 7:10–7:45 p.m.

Whether your skater is stepping onto the ice for the first time or continuing to build confidence and skills, we’d love to see them at Hartmeyer!

What a weekend for MSSC up on Madeline Island for the Apostle Islands Inline Marathon marathon! Lake Superior provided the gorgeous weather and scenery, our skaters brought the sweat and grit (and some blood too, by the end). 🩸😅 🥇
Great efforts by Kieran Collins motoUEL Martin Lichtman Tavis Trosen & Moate, plus swipe to the end to see the inspiring 80yo folks still completing this race. 🙌

The speedskating legacy in Madison is deep and also fascinating! Come skate with us, no matter your career path.

Elizabeth Du Bois was one of the top speed skaters in the world in the 1930s, taught gym at Edgewood High School and then became a Catholic nun. ⤵️ Find a link to the story in the comments.
