A good size group of our members traveled down to Chicago and competed in Grappling Industries’ Chicago April competition this past Saturday. Some of our guys competed in gi and no gi and got a ton of good matches in. Olman got the gold in the 145lb White belt gi division and Grant got bronze in the 170lb White Belt gi division. Good job to all of these guys and what a great showing for our team!

Big promotions for the club with two new blue belts! A bunch of our members that have been training this past school year also got some stripes on their belts too. also bought some special guest coaches, and , yesterday during practice as well.
Also a special day on Monday as taught his last practice at the club. He’s been a pillar for our club and we wish him the best of luck with his training and mma career.

Saturday’s Scrimmage was a big success! Thanks to the competitors from and for making it out to our Fall 2021 Scrimmage. This gave a lot of our members a chance to test their skills against others from different gyms. All photos from the scrimmage are in our bio!

This post is a little late but I want to congratulate Bryce Kopidlansky on his long awaited blue belt back in April! He's put in so much work over the years even before I met him. After joining the club he slowly but surely became more consistent and I've seen him grow in skill and as a leader.
This year Bryce will be the club president and I'm excited to see where he takes it.

If you're looking to get into Jiu-Jitsu as a beginner here is a great place to start. A sweep is a fundamental skill in Jiu-Jitsu where you use your guard to get off your back and into a dominant position.
