The Sanctuary Sports sponsored [Milwaukee] Cheeseburners Field Hockey Club has had a superb start to their Fall campaign. They've already recorded victories over ULS (5-0) and DSHA White/Red (1-0). This Saturday, they travel to Hartland and face the Warhawks of Arrowhead. We expect it to be a tough game for the 'Burners and wish them all the very best!

FREE CAMP FOR WI GOALIES - JULY 18-22

We've spent the last two days working with 2022 Cheeseburners Field Hockey Summer Camp Head Coach, Nigel Hornsby (fmr England Hockey Hi-Performance Coach), to make this event more inclusive for goalkeepers.

Since goalies are an integral part of every team, we're including them in everything we do. All of our outfield exercises now utilize goalkeepers in game play scenarios. They shall have opportunities to work on kicking, saving, diving, smothering, sliding and stick work in every activity we deliver.

We shall also provide specific one-to-one time to coach specific techniques and skills that can quickly be implemented in game play. No more standing in goal getting peppered with shots. It's way more productive for them to be involved, so that's what we're doing.

As you are aware, the 2022 Summer Camp is offered at two different levels. We recommend that the more experienced goalkeepers attend the morning sessions from 9am-12pm. Newer, less experienced (even brand new!!), should attend the afternoon sessions from 12:30pm-3pm.

The camp is being run on the Liz Krieg Field at USM the week of July 18-22.

If you sign up on or before 07/04, they have the option to purchase a camp t-shirt.

Congratulations to local athletes Mackenzie Doerr (DSHA) and Natalie Epperson (USM) for being selected for the 2022 U19 Nexus Championships! This selection marks the completion of the regional Selection Camp sessions and the next step in the Olympic Development Pathway and tryout process for the Junior U.S. National Teams. Both players are part of the successful program based in Illinois.
