ORGANIZATION SPOTLIGHT: PEARLS FOR TEEN GIRLS

We’re proud to highlight PEARLS for Teen Girls as part of the 2026 Black & Brown Run Around 5K.

PEARLS is a Milwaukee organization dedicated to empowering girls in 5th through 12th grade by providing safe spaces, support, mentorship, and opportunities to develop the skills they need to thrive. Their free PEARLS Groups create space for girls to have real conversations, build self-esteem, develop healthy relationships, strengthen social-emotional skills, and prepare for college and careers.

Their mission is rooted in the belief that every girl is precious and has unique gifts and strengths. By supporting girls one at a time, PEARLS is helping build confident young women and stronger, healthier communities.

We’re excited to have PEARLS for Teen Girls connected to the Black & Brown Run Around and grateful for the work they continue to do for Milwaukee’s young people.

FOOD VENDOR SPOTLIGHT: VEGAN SOUL

We’re excited to have Vegan Soul joining us for the 2026 Black & Brown Run Around 5K!

Vegan Soul brings plant-based soul food to Milwaukee, creating flavorful dishes that celebrate the traditions and heritage of African American food and culture. Their approach shows that choosing plant-based food doesn’t mean giving up the comfort, flavor, and soul that make these dishes special.

We’re excited to have them as part of our race-day food lineup and can’t wait for our runners, families, and community members to enjoy what they have to offer.

Our next is shining on Buena Tierra Run Club (Buena Tierra Run Club )! 👟💛💙

Buena Tierra Run Club is a Latino-influenced, Milwaukee-based run club built on community, movement, and connection. Welcoming all paces and all faces, BTRC is a nonprofit dedicated to providing resources for runners while encouraging their community to stay active, prioritize wellness, and live healthy lifestyles.

With runs twice a week — Wednesdays at 6PM at ZÓCALO and Sundays at 9AM at La Finca Coffee House — BTRC welcomes runners and walkers of all experience levels to come as they are and become part of la familia! 🏃🏽‍♀️🏃🏽‍♂️

This year, Buena Tierra is once again supporting us by providing volunteers and helping with route and event-day logistics. We’re incredibly grateful for their continued partnership and the work they do to uplift, connect, and inspire la gente. 🙌🏽

Another great tabling opportunity to give back to our community and help spread awareness about the importance of reading!

Thank you Barbara for the wonderful opportunity to connect with our community and promote the joy and importance of literacy.

Also, 👀 take a look at one of the main attractions coming to the Black & Brown Run Around 5K Walk/Run!

Our Kids Zone will feature a GIANT Dart Board 🎯 along with many other giant games for everyone to enjoy! They’re kid-friendly, but as you can see, they’re also a BIG favorite with the adults!

Just look at Carter having a blast playing alongside the kids!

We’re creating an event where the whole family can come out, have fun, stay active, and enjoy the community together. We can’t wait to see you there!
