With sadness, I report the passing of my Uncle Rick (Ricky) Dean Fiesbeck on November 25, 2025.

Long time skipper of MisDaFew, and a well known member of the Lake Michigan fishing community around Milwaukee and Racine for nearly 50 years. Rick was my friend and my fishing mentor. He always took time to share his knowledge and experience of the fishery with those who were newer to it. Making the experience of this great fishery better for many by this great man.

I am humbled and honored to have the special opportunity now to make my living by sharing the experience of this fishery with others. This was made possible by the influence and teaching from Rick along with his late brother the great Randy Fiesbeck.

You will be missed. However the legacy that you and Randy created together will live on.

August finished super strong, in both fish caught and trips completed. Very close to July on both counts.September slow...

August finished super strong, in both fish caught and trips completed. Very close to July on both counts.
September slowed a little, but we still had some good fishing throughout - with fishing on fire again in the last week!

It's set up nicely for another great October - Juvenile Chinooks are nearby in big numbers and they are hungry! The big rainbows are around again too, showing up in nearly every box. A few cohos, lake trout, and browns are around as well - we did a couple of 5 species boxes in the past week!
October is slower so far in terms of trips on the schedule, but we expect it to fill in strong like last year.

We've had some pretty challenging weather over the past week - several trips cancelled or cut short due to storms. But the fishing has been good to great - reaching a crescendo peak Tuesday with a crazy good morning bite! Couldn't get the cooler lid to close - and all that happened before 9am!
