Congratulations to Mrs. Amy Patenaude and Mr. Eli Patenaude on their promotion to 1st degree recommended black belt. Amy and Eli have worked hard for the past almost 5 years on this. After having to close the location in Fayston they and Mr Shawn Patenaude have been making the 90 mile round trip to Milton to continue their training. This year has been especially difficult for everyone and they have persevered thru the pandemic. I couldn’t picture a better ending to 2020 if I wanted to. Also congratulations to Mr. Matthew Lang on his promotion to red belt. I have been working with Matt the past few months and I have taken him under my wing. I wish I had 50 students like Matt.

Congratulations to all of you.
Master Shawn Sicely.

Due to current events we are sad to announce that we have decided to close Mad River TKD permanently. The town has decided not to rent the space to us due to health and safety issues.

However I am happy to announce I will be partnering up with Master April Pettingill at Arrowhead martial arts in Milton Vermont. Master Pettingill has reached out and I will be starting to teach classes there and working with her to grow that school. I know it’s a bit of a drive for my current students but I hope you will be able to attend.

It’s been an honor to teach classes in the valley for the past eight years. I will definitely miss this community.

Please contact me for more information if you have any questions.

Class update.

Unfortunately the town of Fayston has decided not to allow classes to resume at the town hall anytime soon.

I will be making a decision soon as to weather or not I am going to close the school permanently. Between the 90 mile round trip I have to make and loosing money every year I am not sure I am going to continue.

I will let everyone know what I decide as soon as possible. At this point I am leaning towards closing permanently.

Sincerely.

Shawn Sicely
