On June 24, two major earthquakes struck Venezuela, killing more than 4,400 people and injuring over 16,700. In response, aikidoists from Florida Aikikai, Aikido Miramar, Kenosha Aikikai, and Capital Aikikai of Wisconsin came together for a fundraising seminar, with all proceeds going to relief efforts through Global Empowerment Mission. Between the seminar and online donations, the community raised close to $10,000 — 72 gifts, most of them modest, from people who simply decided to help.

When tragedy strikes, distance should never become indifference.

Many of us have family, friends, memories, and roots in Venezuela.

Today, thousands of people need help after the devastating earthquakes that have left communities destroyed and families grieving.
Now we have an opportunity to put the values martial arts have taught us into action.

Join us for “Aikido in Solidarity with Venezuela.”

Whether you’ve trained for 30 years or are stepping onto the mat for the first time, everyone is welcome.

Come practice, learn, connect, and help make a difference.

There is no admission fee.

On June 24th, two earthquakes struck Venezuela. We felt that news, and we wanted to respond the way we know how — by training together, and by helping.

Capital Aikikai of Wisconsin is joining a group of Venezuelan aikidoists for a charity seminar at Florida Aikikai in Fort Lauderdale. Saturday, July 11th, 10am–1pm. All proceeds go directly to earthquake relief.
