Big-time performance today from Cape junior (and Mariner XC alum) Ryan Baker, who shattered the Sand Hill Fields course record by going 15:51 for 5K today against Caesar Rodney. He won the race by 40 seconds! His time is the fastest for 5K in 50+ years of Cape cross-country.

Early in the XC season, the team met in the library to watch a training video about Newbury Park (Calif.)'s boys team. They did something amazing today. Might wanna check out the video of the Nike Cross Nationals boys' race.

We might have set a new record for total seconds dropped at today's XC meet: 3,421 seconds by 28 runners (average improvement of 2:02.2) over 3K. The weather certainly helped, but the kids' commitment to hard work was the major factor. So psyched! Greatttttt job, runners!

5:50.07 1600 in the sixth grade - new school record and a 12-second PR! Couldn’t be more proud of this kid. Insanely hard worker - ran 200s in a monsoon the other day. Oh, and a straight-A student to boot! Way to go, Ali!
