All ready for its first track day of the year at NJMP.

After the last race we ran into an issue with no power to the ECU and after spending hours upon hours chasing the issue we decided to pull the body harness and replace it.

It's kinda comical cause there are many many empty connectors without sensors. If I had time I would depin the main connector of all the waste and it probably would lose a bit of weight. IE: Radio, SRS, Security, etc... With the Haltech ECU the Immobilizer is disabled thank goodness!

The biggest benefit I have now is the fuel pump is going to be controlled by the ECU like it was from the factory. No, we don't have the stock tank and yes we have a fuel cell but run a Walbro 255lph pump externally. It's getting moved from the trunk to under what would be the driver's side rear seat against the frame rail and the factory wiring will connect to it there.

Overall, this project is taking longer than I want as we still have testing to do for the updates I made to the tune for rev-matching and maybe one day will setup a pit speed limiter button and a yellow flag map for fuel conservation.

Engine, and S2 transmission back in the car. Cleaned main engine harness as well as labeled the injector connectors.

When I undid the harness grounds which ground the ECU they were coated in oil on both sides which explains why the ECU had no power. Anyway, now that things are cleaned up I'll expect to have it running very soon.

Today, the engine and trans came together! I can't thank Sam W. Keller enough for making the guide pins, because it makes the assembly so much easier!

I still laugh at the size of the engine vs the gearbox.

Getting excited to reinstall it and see if the changes I made to the tune post Summit helped it. Especially, rev-matching which the Haltech can do.

Slowly getting back together after cleaning off the oil that got all over everything during the Summit Point race.

I'm astonished as to how much oil there was. Took the intake off because it was just filled with so much grime. Somehow it got under the fuel injector connectors too.

For those that know I had to get creative to torque the e-shaft nut, 300 ft/lbs.

It's out! Now to properly clean the engine and the car from all the oil even though I attempted to clean it with the engine in.

It's done! Now I have to play musical cars and get it back in the rotation of usage.

I will say that I'm so happy that I learned how to do such things growing up. I can't imagine not knowing how to work on my own car. Funny part is I have yet to tear into the racecar engine.

Anyway, we'll be returning to our normal schedule of posting racecar stuff.
