Huge thank you to all the riders who came out to our Spring Creek Riding School this past weekend!

We saw a ton of progress throughout the day - better technique, more confidence, and real improvement from start to finish.

What stood out most was the effort this group brought all day. Their willingness to learn, push limits, and keep improving was obvious every session.

This crew is going places đŸ’Ș

Excited to watch the progress continue. 👊

Be first on the track đŸ’Ș

This Saturday, April 25th, we’re bringing the Troll Training Riding School Series to Spring Creek - our home track.

There’s something different about coaching here. This is where our coaches grew up riding, and it allows us to give more detailed feedback, better line choices, and real insight you won’t get anywhere else.

We’re back to our full schedule (10am - 4pm) and working with riders of all levels. Whether you’re shaking off the off-season rust or building fundamentals from the ground up, this is the perfect way to kick off your season.

 and crushing it!!

It’s always awesome to see moto athletes branch out into something like long distance running. On the surface, they’re totally different - but the mindset behind them is the same.

Consistency, dedication, and a willingness to push yourself go a long way, no matter the sport. Respect to anyone putting that into action.

Don’t mess this one up 👀

One of the biggest mistakes riders make in the spring is keeping the same off-season training intensity while adding riding on top. This is a fast track to burnout, excessive soreness, or injury.

As riding volume increases, training intensity should come down slightly. You don’t need to be smashing PRs in the gym or doing your hardest cardio sessions when you’re riding two or three times a week. Instead, shift training toward maintaining strength, reinforcing movement quality, and supporting recovery.

Think of it this way: winter training is about building. In-season training is about maintaining and refining.

What a weekend đŸ’Ș

“Detroit was good to me from the first lap on the track to the last lap of the main. I felt solid all day and all the pieces to the puzzle seemed to align! I really needed that ride with how up and down this SX season has been to me!”

- Henry Miller

Awesome to see things fall into place this weekend!

Once the season starts and you’re back riding consistently, that naturally becomes the biggest driver of your performance, but that doesn’t mean training just goes away.

A lot of people either try to hold on to their full winter routine or drop it completely once they’re riding again, and neither really works. Riding more doesn’t replace the purpose of training, it just shifts how it fits into your week.

The goal is finding a balance where both support each other. Your time on the bike drives performance, and your training keeps you progressing, staying strong, and holding it all together as the season builds.

Don’t overlook durability 😳

When you look at a day full of motos is it only one effort you have to throw down? Likely, you have a big push for qualifying, and then heats and then hopefully the main.

What about a mountain bike race? You probably want to get a stellar start, then somewhere on the course there will be a standout climb and of course you’ll want to have a strong finish.

If you break down racing you’ll see that its not always one steady push but a culmination of bigger efforts tied together. They may be broken up by hours, or just a few miles but the idea that being able to push hard again and again doesn’t go away.

You can take this into account when you’re reflecting on your workouts. It doesn’t always have to be “How did that feel” - you can ask yourself “Can I do this again?” Being able to repeat efforts is a great indicator of where your fitness is at.

If you think about an interval session it is often a hard effort followed by a period of recovery and then a hard effort again. Pushing yourself when fatigued helps build resilience and can make you a more durable athlete.

This idea can be taken one step further if you ask yourself “Could I do this again tomorrow?” If you’re able to recreate your efforts 24hrs later, you’re on the right track.
