Tonight's Jiu-Jitsu class was all about turning one good position into the next. We started by working how to transition directly from a takedown into an armbar because if you're doing all that work to get somebody to the floor, you might as well collect interest on the investment. π€
From there we got into our X-Guard series. We covered the fundamental get-up sweep, what to do when your training partner gets wise and tries to high-step out, turning that into a trip sweep, and then finishing up with the X-Guard push sweep. Different reactions, different answers. That's how you build a game instead of memorizing random moves.
Then it was time to see if that work actually sticks. Live training from X-Guard, positional rounds from Kesa Gatame, and we closed the night out with 3 minutes of flow rolling. No egos, no UFC contract on the line, just good work, good reps, and sharpening the tools.π€πΎ
Big congratulations to Gabe on his well-deserved promotion tonight. Promotions aren't about showing up when it's convenient. They're about consistency, improvement, and putting the time in when nobody's watching. Proud of the work you've put in, brother. Keep climbing. ππ₯
Appreciate everybody who hit the mats tonight. The room keeps getting better because of the people in it. π₯
