BEFC competes in the State 1 League SE in the Women’s Premier League, in which they have won 6 championships in 9 years, including the 2017 State 1 League title.

FISC: What was your experience like playing with Fire & Ice the past two years?
Sidney Allen: “My experience with Fire and Ice has been amazing, especially this past summer with winning the WPSL National Championship. We were able to play against the best teams and players in the league. Playing with Fire and Ice has helped me grow as a player and playing with everyone on the team has allowed me to learn from them as well. My teammates pushed me and challenged me every day to get better.”
FISC: How did playing for Fire & Ice help prepare you for the next level?
Sidney Allen: “The past two summers have helped me get prepared for this next step in my playing career. Playing with strong, smart, composed, and hard-working players makes you want to do the same. I was able to learn from each of my teammates and that has formed me into the player I am today. Also, learning different positions on the field, going from offensive midfield in college to defensive on Fire & Ice, was very different. Having smart and composed players next to me was very helpful to learn from and work with. Then going to center back this past summer was a huge difference but having those strong players next to me helped me grow as a player and teammate.”
“Having Lindsay as a coach is a big part of being me being prepared for this next step. She challenged and pushed me every single day. She pushed me outside of my comfort zone by changing positions and challenging my decision making on the field. I trusted her as a coach and she’s improved my game tremendously.”
FISC: What are you going to miss most about playing for Fire & Ice?
Sidney Allen: “I will definitely miss the team the most, it was always a fun summer with them and they are a great group of girls.”
FISC: What are you most looking forward to playing in Australia?
Sidney Allen: “I am looking forward to continuing my soccer career and seeing competition in other parts of the world. My goal is to keep improving on my game while in Australia and enjoying a new country!”
