Everybody thinks burnouts or trail abuse are what kill 37s. Truth is, most of the tires we replace weren’t abused—they were neglected.

The biggest tire killers we see are lack of rotations, incorrect tire pressure, bad alignments, and worn steering or suspension components. A good set of brand name 37s can cost a couple of grand or more these days, and it’s amazing how many people will spend that kind of money and then never rotate them.

If you’re running oversized tires, rotate them every 5,000 to 7,500 miles(every other oil change if not every oil change), keep an eye on your air pressure, and don’t ignore that little bit of steering play you’ve been meaning to have checked out.

Most tires don’t fail from doing cool stuff. They die from being driven to work every day with a problem nobody fixed. It is not wrong to expect 50K, 60K, and even 70K miles on your set of Nittos or BFGs when properly maintained. We know because we have done it on multiple sets here at the shop. I can tell you that we’ve had a set of 35” and 37” Ridge Grapplers surpass 70K now. Care for your tires and they’ll reward you with long service.
