Gut shooting an animal isn't always non recoverable. This depends on your actions after the shot. Floki does well with gut shot animals. The biggest key is recognizing the gut shot and then giving the animal plenty of time. As soon as you push the animal your chances go down dramatically especially if you bump them after they have bed down.

With deer season approaching this is a good tool most hunters already use. Waiting a decent amount of time can drastically improve your animal recovery. Remember if your in doubt at all stay out of the area. Your scent on the blood trail can make it harder for a recovery using a dog.
