We hope everyone has had a wonderful summer! We wanted to make everyone aware of changes that will be coming to Penn Manor Esports for the 2024-2025 school year.
Lets start off with some exciting news. We're extremely happy to announce that Mario Kart will be added to our games!
Secondly, we're changing what games run in each semester. Each game will be running a different semester, so none of our games will run more than one semester. See the image below to see when each game will run. The reason we are not running every game every semester is because we want to allow our players and coaches to really have our esports lab located at Penn Manor High School dedicated to a specific team during a semester. This will allow our coaching staff to go through the teams previous games more thoroughly with the teams and have access to our TV's in the lab so coaches can go over video with players, not have other teams distracting them, etc.
While we will not be running every game all year, it is important to note however that each Monday, we will be holding rec sessions for each of the games not running. In the fall, rec will be on Monday for Overwatch and League of Legends, and in the spring for Rocket League.
League of Legends Update: Last Spring as you all are aware, we did not run our League of Legends team. The status for this year is unknown, as it is all based on the players who are interested in playing League of Legends, as well as grades, attendance in school, etc.
Our esports clubs during the school day will once again be running this year. It will still be running the same way it has in previous years, allowing for our players to come into the lab during their flex period during the school day, and continue working with their team.
Support Team Update: The Support Team is actively looking for people to join our team in all positions. It's still not entirely clear on how the Support Team will run this year, as it all depends on the number of people we bring into the team, as it's based on their skills. Students interested in joining the Support Team may fill our the registration form, which will be located at the end of this (very lengthy) post.
Finally, we will be holding a parent information meeting on September 5th at 7:00 PM at Penn Manor High School. This is a great way for parents to get to know our coaching staff, and give them more information on the season. Parents who have students currently in Penn Manor Esports, as well as parents who's students are interested in joining Penn Manor Esports are welcome to attend. Note this meeting will run for roughly an hour.
Registration for the 2024 Fall season is now open! Any student who is interested in joining Penn Manor Esports should fill out the Google Form to register for try-outs. Try-outs for the Fall season will take place on September 9th at 3:00 PM at Penn Manor High School. Students should look out for an email after the first day of school, but before try-outs giving them confirmation of the registration from our coaching staff, and more information about try-outs.
