ETA Player Development Report: Mason
Program: Evolution Training Assessments (ETA)
Coach: Ryan Weaver
Session Date: June 5th, 2026
Location: ETA Lab
Session Type: First Session | Pitching Development

Session Overview
Had Mason in for his first session last night. Focus was pitching mechanics and developing on the mound. Strong first day with immediate velocity and spin metrics. The opportunity to train Mason now and coach him is a unique opportunity that I take great pride in. We can work through things and go back to the drawing board in sessions to ensure things fit mentally and physically.

Pitching Assessment — First Impressions

Stuff & Metrics for Age:
Velocity: Sat upper 60s, touching 70 mph. Big arm strength for first session
Fastball Spin: Good spin on his fastball. Ball has life through the zone
Arm Talent: Natural 3/4 arm slot potential. Ball comes out clean

Mechanical Observations:
Lower Half: Initial tendency to not plant strong on front leg. Limited energy transfer
Glove Side: Habit to pull glove across body. Lowers strike percentage and lets hitters see pitches early
Pronation: Inconsistent finish through ball due to front leg timing

Mechanical Adjustments Made

Lower Half Focus:
Front Leg Plant: Got him planting better on his front leg. Create brace to rotate around
Result: Immediate improvement in pronation. Ball came out freer with better finish

Glove Side & Arm Path:
Glove Direction: Adjusted mechanism to stop pulling across body. Keep glove in front
Arm Slot: Got him more over top at 3/4 arm slot vs flying open
Result: Extremely effective adjustment. Better deception, higher strike %. More on-time delivery

Performance Results
Velocity Maintained: Sat upper 60s while cleaning up mechanics. Touched 70 mph
Spin Quality: Good spin numbers held post-adjustment. Ball played better at the plate
Command Trend: Strike % improved once glove side stayed directional
Deception: Hitters won’t see pitches early now that glove stays in front

Intangibles & Makeup
Coachability: Took adjustments and applied them in first session. High-level learner
Desire: So proud of Mason and his desire to be his best. Shows up ready to work
Mental Fit: Can handle going back to the drawing board. Wants it to be right mentally and physically
Ceiling: Arm talent + willingness to adjust = very high projection on mound

We cleaned up two things fast: got him planting better on that front leg which helped his pronation immediately, and we stopped the glove from pulling across his body. That glove was flying open, hurting his strikes and tipping pitches. Once we got him more over top at 3/4, everything synced up.

This is extremely effective for him and Mason will develop very effectively because of it. I take a lot of pride in getting to coach him now. We’ll keep working through things, going back to the drawing board when we need to, and making sure it all fits mentally and physically.

Development Plan

Immediate Priorities:
Front Leg Brace: Keep planting strong. Feel the energy transfer into pronation
Glove Direction: Glove stays in front. Think chest to glove, not glove across chest
3/4 Slot Consistency: Repeat over-top feel. Film every bullpen to check slot

Pitching Goals — Next 30 Days:
Strike %: Build off glove side fix. Target 65%+ strikes in pens
Velo Floor: Hold upper 60s. Touch 70+ more frequently as mechanics ingrain
Mental/Physical Sync: Continue drawing board sessions. Make sure cues click both ways

Long-Term Projection: High-velocity strike thrower. If glove side and front leg stay consistent, velo and command will keep climbing. Special opportunity to mold early.

ETA Player Development Report: Bentley
Program: Evolution Training Assessments (ETA)
Coach: Ryan Weaver
Session Date: June 5th, 2026
Location: ETA Lab
Session Type: Bullpen Development Session

Session Overview
Got Bentley in for a bullpen session today. Really great to have him back in. One of my favorite guys to work with due to the way he’s built — mentally and physically. High motor kid who truly loves baseball and attacks the process to get better. Productive day with real mechanical gains.

Initial Video Analysis

Film Observations:
Glove Side Stability: Wasn’t driving or staying strong on glove side. Leaking out early in delivery
Glove Path: Tucking glove midline but also wrapping it. Losing direction and energy
Lower Half: Excess bend in knees at start causing instability through finish

Mechanical Adjustments Made

Glove Side Corrections:
Direction: Cued glove thumb toward catcher vs wrapping. Goal: create better line to plate
Drive Intent: Focused on driving through glove side vs leaking. Stay strong and on top
Result: Stayed on top of glove side. Posture held longer. Direction improved immediately

Lower Half Stability:
Starting Position: Took some bend out of knees at setup. Create better stack and balance
Finish Position: Reducing early bend helped him stabilize better through release and follow-through

Arm Action/Path:
Natural Arm Slot: As glove side and direction cleaned up, arm slot fell back in naturally to what he does best
No Forcing: Didn’t cue arm. Just let better direction and posture put arm where it belongs

Performance Results

Stuff & Metrics:
Spin: Spin rate was a lot higher. Ball spun more naturally once direction improved
Consistency: Consistency in strikes went up significantly within session
Velocity: Sat 48 mph consistently. Topped out at 50 mph today. Velocity is up
Body Movement: Not worried about velocity, but exciting to track. Body’s moving better

Mechanical Outcomes:
Spin Efficiency: Staying on top allowed cleaner release and more natural spin
Command: Better direction = better strike %. Glove side control was the key
Repeatability: Stabilized finish position created more consistent arm slot and release

Intangibles & Makeup
Motor: High motor. Brings energy every rep. One of my favorite kids to work with
Mental Build: Designed to attack baseball. Wants to get better and does the work
Coachability: Takes film feedback and applies it. Sees it, feels it, fixes it
Love for Game: Genuinely loves baseball. Shows in how he competes in bullpens

Coach Summary
Bentley was awesome today. Love this kid’s build — mentally he’s wired to get better. On film we saw he was leaking glove side and wrapping the glove, which killed his direction. We got his glove thumb going to the catcher and had him drive that way.

Once he stayed on top of his glove side, everything clicked. Spin jumped, strikes were way more consistent, and his arm slot just fell back to normal without us even talking about it. We also took some bend out of his knees at the start so he could stabilize better at finish.

Sat 48, touched 50. Not chasing velo, but when mechanics are right, the body moves better and the velo climbs. That’s what happened. Really excited for Bentley. Can’t wait for our next session.

Development Plan

Immediate Priorities:
Glove Side Direction: Thumb to catcher. Drive and hold. No wrap, no leak
Posture: Stay on top. Feel strong front side through release
Lower Half Setup: Less knee bend at start. Create stable base to drive from

Pitching Goals — Next 30 Days:
Strike %: Maintain today’s consistency gains. Build bullpens around strike targets
Spin Development: Continue glove side work. Higher spin = sharper break
Velo Tracking: Log 48-50 range. Goal: hold 48+ floor, push 52+ PR

Long-Term Projection: High-motor strike thrower. If glove side stays strong, command and spin will keep climbing with physical maturity.

ETA Player Development Report: Jameson
Program: Evolution Training Assessments (ETA)
Coach: Ryan Weaver
Session Date: June 4th, 2026
Age: 14
School/Team: Ohio Hitmen | Lancaster HS — Incoming Freshman 2026-27
Bats/Throws: L/R
Location: ETA Lab
Session Type: Initial Assessment | New Client Alert

Session Overview
New client alert — we had Jameson in the lab last night for his first session with Evolution Training Assessments. We were really, really excited to get with him.

Left-handed hitter, fourteen-year-old player for the Ohio Hitmen. He’ll be a freshman at Lancaster High School next year. I’ve had the privilege to work a lot of different players over the years, and he reminds me of a lot of different guys — but he brings out some Casey Fink-esque things that he’s got going on.

Hitting Assessment

Initial Look:
Bat Path Tendency: Naturally stays inside the ball well when loose
Issue Identified: A little bit pull-side. Dives across the plate then gets yanked to the right side
Root Cause: Sinking in his back knee, which creates a trigger point for him to go pool-side/drift

Mechanical Adjustments Made:
Posture: Got him to stay looser and taller — quit sinking/collapsing the back knee
Load: Got him to load more pre-pitch vs drifting into it
Stabilization: Focused on stabilizing so he doesn’t drift across the plate

Performance Results:
Exit Velo Jump: About 6-8 mph increase in exit velocity during session
Ball Flight: Driving the ball consistently to all fields once stabilized
Contact Quality: Extremely quick to contact. You could hear the sound off the bat change
Player Feedback: He saw the difference too. Audible and visual confirmation matters

What We Worked:
Quit the Drift: Stop diving across the plate. Stay centered
Back Knee Posture: Maintain height/angle vs sinking. Keeps him from getting trapped
Pre-Pitch Load: Load earlier so he’s not rushing to catch up
All-Fields Power: As we stabilized him, it really opened up his power to all fields

Intangibles & Makeup
Feel for Hitting: Natural ability to stay inside the ball — high-level trait for LHH
Coachability: Made adjustments mid-session and results showed immediately
Body Awareness: Felt the difference when posture/load cleaned up
Projection: Power five baseball upside. Frame/tools to get there
Comp: Casey Fink-esque — similar ability to leverage barrel and use whole field when right

Coach Summary
Tremendous first session with Jameson. He’s got so many good things going on. Left-handed hitters who can naturally stay inside the ball are rare, and he’s got that.

The big win last night: getting him taller and looser. When he quit sinking in that back knee, everything synced up. No more drift. No more getting trapped pool-side. The 10 mph exit velo jump wasn’t random — it was direct feedback from better posture and an earlier load.

He’s extremely quick to contact already. Now that we’ve stabilized the move, his power to all fields opened up. He heard it, saw it, felt it. That’s how buy-in happens.

Development Plan

Weekly Training Structure: 1-hour hitting sessions

Hitting Priorities:
Posture Control: Back knee height drills. No sinking. Feel tall in stance/load
Pre-Pitch Load Timing: Load before the pitch, not during. Rhythmic load work
Anti-Drift Work: Stride direction + center of mass drills. Stay behind the ball
All-Fields Trackman Days: Measure EV + launch to LCF/RF. Goal: consistent 90+ EV gap-to-gap
LHH Matchup Work: Tee/front toss on outer half. Reinforce staying inside

30-Day Target: Eliminate pool-side drift tendency. Consistent 90+ mph EV middle-away.

Long-Term Trajectory: Power Five baseball. Has the LHH traits, frame, and bat speed. With weekly work, he can chase that level.

Overall: Really excited for Jameson. We’re going to start hitting together weekly for an hour. I’m excited to help him get where he wants to go and chase his dreams.

ETA Player Development Report: Jhett
Program: Evolution Training Assessments
Coach: Ryan Weaver
Session Date: June 3rd, 2026
Age: 8
Location: ETA Lab
Session Type: Initial Assessment | New Client Alert

Session Overview
New client alert — we had Jhett in for his very first session. Jett is an eight-year-old player and he is extremely talented. Doing things that are really, really high level for eight years old.

Currently plays in the Millerpsort Rec League and is looking to start making some transitions with his talent. We did a full-body assessment: what he's doing as a fielder, what he's doing as a hitter. Came away extremely impressed with the way that he's moving.

Hitting Assessment

Key Observations:
Swing Profile: Extremely rotational. Very, very explosive with the back side of his body
Spine/Elasticity: Very elastic with his thoracic spine. Already moving very functionally well with his movement patterns
Loading: We spoke about loading and incorporating a little more flexion with his front side. He did very, very well with those adjustments
Coachability: Extremely coachable. I work with 50-60 athletes a week and throw a lot of drills at kids. What I assessed in a short time was he's very, very cognitive
Processing Speed: I can give him information, he can take it, process it, and adjust in real time

Performance Notes:
Movement Quality: Functional, explosive, athletic. Advanced rotational patterns for 8U
Body Control: Moves well in space. Understands his body relative to the swing
Adaptability: Took loading cues and applied them immediately. No rigidness

Fielding Assessment

Key Observations:
Arm: Extremely explosive arm. Only going to get better as he gets more confidence
Athleticism: Very functional fielder. Moves well to the ball
Projection: Definitely a left side of the infield guy as he develops going into 9U baseball next year. Could see him playing shortstop or third base
Area to Clean Up: Just needs to make sure he's coming and getting the ball, not waiting back on his heels

Intangibles & Makeup
Cognitive Ability: High-level processing. Adjusts in real time vs just repeating drills
Talent Level: High-level movements for 8U. Elastic, explosive, rotational
Coachability: Takes feedback and implements immediately. Rare for first session
Projection: Will make very, very quick progressions because of how he learns
Confidence: Arm will play up even more as confidence grows

What separates him is the cognitive side. I can throw information at him and he doesn’t just hear it, he uses it. That’s why I’m very, very excited to continue working with Jett. He’ll make quick progressions.

Defensively, explosive arm, functional athlete, left-side infield profile all day. We’ll clean up the approach, attack the ball vs heels, and his tools will take over.

Development Plan

Weekly Training Structure: 1-hour sessions

Hitting Priorities:
Front Side Flexion: Continue ingraining athletic load position. Hold/feel drills
Maintain Rotation: Med ball work to keep thoracic elasticity and backside drive
Sequence Timing: Make sure load flows into rotation without pause
Exit Velo Baseline: Establish tee/front toss numbers next session to track

Fielding Priorities:
Attack Angle: “Get the hop you want” drills. No heels. Prep step work
Arm Slot Consistency: Long toss + crow hop work to sync lower/upper half
Left Side Actions: Short hop series, slow roller reads, backhands at 3B/SS
Confidence Throws: Build arm confidence with measured long toss progression

30-Day Target: Clean approach to ground balls + consistent load pattern in swing. Establish baseline metrics.

Overall: Really, really excited to work with Jhett. We’re going to start working together weekly for an hour. With his talent and how he processes, his progress is going to be fun to watch.
