On April 20, the family loaded up and headed for Lake Pinchot!!! With the family boat still in yhe shop, we loaded the kayaks and took off! What a blast that was!!! Even Ally caught one coming in at 13 1/2” on her “Frozen” rod and reel!!!! Gave her the fight of her life!!!! But we unfortunately had a small mishap when Angel got her lure stuck deep in her thumb. I took the kids to shore (Ally attached to my kayak all day), dropped them off and went back to hook up to Angel since she couldn’t paddle with one hand. Once on shore we got everything packed up and took off for an urgent care in Harrisburg. They are able to remove the lure but they threw it away before Angel could say she still wanted it (we were going to put a new hook on it). She is doing much better today tho and we’ve been joking about it quite a bit!!! We already can’t wait until our next trip!!!!

Spring is here!!!!! And with that starts a million more memories!!!! I can’t help but think of Trace Adkins song “just fishin” on these days. It’s far from just fishin……. Today the family packed up and made the trip over the mountain to Dauphin to the Kids Zone (as I call it). I fish this stretch as a kid, so did my brother, both of my older boys, had Leo here a few times, and now Princess Ally!!! They each caught a few with a ton of fun and laughs, but now I also know why my old man would get pi**ed, take the rod, cast it out, and throw it back at me yelling fish on!!!!! Ok maybe not that bad, but I do understand the frustration he felt. Here’s to many more days ahead!!!!!!! Thank you Angel, Leo, and Ally for a wonderful day!!!! I’ll love you all forever!!!!!

Gilley and the Wi******er .30-30 (old blue) make it happen!!!!! I was out of hunting for quite a few years, and the last couple have been an absolute flop. All together this is my first one in about 12 or 13 years. Today the .30-30 with the corlokts made it all come together!!! I couldn’t be happier!!!!

THE FIRST DAY OF THE PA DEER RIFLE SEASON IS HERE!!!!!!! I’ve seen a few massive tree rats, one hunter, very few shots, and no deer yet. Angel is sitting about 300 yards to my west and is in the same boat but has seen no other hunters. Did everyone forget it’s opening day or something?!?!?
