I’ve never shared my 9/11 story publicly, because it pales in comparison to the atrocities of that terrible day. Dewey and I were living in Seattle at the time and Dewey just happened to be on a business trip in New York City. Dewey’s dad called me shortly after 6:00 a.m. PST. I thought it was way too early to wish me happy birthday, but instead he said “Where’s Dewey?” I had no idea, but knew he was there to visit Nasdaq at One Liberty Plaza and had been in the North Tower on 9/10. Dewey’s dad told me about the attack and said to turn on the TV. I immediately tried to reach Dewey, but there was no answer for several hours. Thank goodness he was about 25 blocks away, but only because the meeting planned for 9/11 was moved up to 9/10. I remember complaining because he had to travel on 9/9, the Sunday before. I feel so guilty about that and thank God for keeping him safe. With all that said, God Bless the families who lost loved ones on 9/11! We Will Never Forget! 💙🦅🇺🇸
BTW, I’m changing my birthday to 9/12….
