Spring Striper are ripping
The spring striper spawn is on! 🐟 Spring striped bass monitoring on the Oostanaula, Etowah, and Coosa Rivers has pulled in several 30+ pound fish. This is a positive sign these fish survived difficult conditions last summer in their normal thermal refuges.
The health of the striped bass population in these northwest Georgia rivers is vital to the state's Striped Bass Production Program. Due to the limited reproduction of striped bass naturally, these fish serve as the primary source of broodfish for the program at Richmond Hill Hatchery.
