If you’ve not met Jong and you crab on the west coast, there’s a good chance you might soon, as spring crabbing takes off.

In fact, if he’s not bogged down making snares, Jong is likely traveling up and down the coast, crabbing, collecting your feedback, selling Glider Snares, and giving a few away! Lots of people can tell their stories of meeting Jong, getting a snare, and then a complimentary spool-up of braided line or a swivel, just to make sure they’re set up for success. As a retired postal worker, Jong does all of this purely because he is psyched about being outside fishing and crabbing, and sharing that excitement with others. That, and he’s dead-set on figuring out how to build the most effective crab snare available.

Hey Everyone! A quick PSA here about cleaning up after ourselves when out crabbing. We found this mess of zip ties out on a pier in Washington recently. Likely from a foldable crab trap, their poor bait systems generally need them to hold the bait secure. PLEAESE TAKE YOUR TRASH WITH YOU, and do one better and clean up after others, too. (Yes, we cleaned this up!) Better yet, switch to a Glider Snare that has a superior bait holding system that is 100% secure without any zip ties needed! Let us know what you’re seeing out there. You may now return to your crabbing adventure. Thanks for your time! 🤘
