Think about it like this 👇
Think about a piece of paper with a line down the middle
On the left, all your life stressors:
Training
Work stress
Financial stress
Family issues
Not eating enough
Crap sleep
Sitting all day
On the right, ways you [could] recover:
Meditation
Sleeping enough
Being outdoors/sunlight exposure
Aerobic work
Eating enough calories
Eating enough protein
Heat therapy
Hydrating
and every day you scored a +1 for all stress and a -1 for all recovery...
How would you score, honestly?
Most people ignore this when choosing a training program.
They choose something that looks hard so they feel like they’re ‘doing enough’, whatever that means.
But if recovery doesn’t negate the stress, it’s not a matter of ‘if’ but ‘when’ your progress stalls.
Your training should match with what you’re willing to do when you’re not training, not your ambition.
