Today, I say goodbye to a place that changed me just as much as I worked to change it.
After a lot of reflection, I am stepping away from my role as Athletic Director at Caroline Middle School. This is not an easy post to write, because this program, these kids, and this community mean everything to me.
When I first arrived at Caroline Middle School, I walked into a program that was struggling—unorganized, misrepresented, and honestly lacking direction. But I never saw it as broken beyond repair. I saw potential. I saw kids who deserved better. And I went to work.
Everything I did here was for the kids.
Together, we changed the culture of Caroline Middle School athletics. We built structure, pride, accountability, and expectations. We bridged the gap between middle school and high school athletics so our student-athletes were truly prepared for what came next. We welcomed 5th graders into athletics so they could feel connected early and grow with the program. We never forgot the student in student-athlete—academics, character, and effort always mattered.
We didn’t just build teams—we built opportunities. We started an athletic support club. We created and ran over 30 clubs each year so every student had a place after school, not just athletes. We raised banners. We honored the past, celebrated the present, and set standards for the future. We elevated every program to a higher level of competition and helped create a name for Caroline Middle School athletics that is now respected across the state. Created millions of in between that people know and families felt throughout my 5 years as a leader in Eagle Nation.
But the real wins don’t hang in the gym.
The real wins are the kids. The growth. The confidence. The lessons learned through tough losses and earned victories. Watching students become leaders, teammates, and young people who believed in themselves made every long night and early morning worth it.
I leave knowing the foundation is solid. The culture is strong. The expectations are clear. Caroline athletics is set up to flourish long after me because the right things are in place—and because this community truly cares.
Lastly, thank you. Thank you to the student-athletes who trusted me and showed up every day ready to work. Thank you to the coaches who bought in, worked tirelessly, and put kids first. Thank you to the parents who supported, challenged, and believed in what we were building. Thank you to the staff, administration, and community members who stood behind this program and our kids. I gave this job everything I had—heart, energy, passion, and purpose—and I wouldn’t change a thing.
Caroline Middle School will always have a piece of me.
Once an Eagle, always an Eagle.
