Despite an unconventional tournament weekend our 8U AllStars capped off the season with a second place finish in the silver bracket. Yesterday Circleville got hit hard with the storms. Pool play games were moved to Plain City and the girls went 1-1 earning the #2 seed and first round bye in the silver bracket. After a dominant performance in the semifinal round they met our friends from up North, the M.U.D. County AllStars. Both teams battled all six innings and our girls came up just short. Keep your head held high girls. The improvements seen over the last three weeks, while many of you were balancing Union County Fair commitments, were tremendous. We’re looking forward to seeing some of you on the fields this Fall, and we hope to see all of you back on the fields next Spring.

Another year and another successful Ponytail Express tournament. We hosted 26 teams from around Ohio this weekend at our fields in Milford Center. Our 8U AllStars got to compete against some other AllStar and competitive travel teams this weekend. They went 2-2 on the weekend, losing to the teams that finished 1st and 2nd in the tournament. This weekend wouldn’t be possible without the help of the countless volunteers that ran concessions, kept up with trash, maintained the fields between games, and showed up at 5am on Saturday and Sunday to pump water off the fields to make sure the girls got an opportunity to play softball. We received multiple compliments this weekend about how well run the tournament was and the level
of effort we put in to get the fields playable after all four rain storms this weekend. There’s a lot of behind the scenes effort to pull this off every year. We’d also like to thank Sportscape once again for the upgrades to the tball field. Because of them the 8U division was able to play on the field and four girls got their first over the fence HR!!!!!

It’s been a long, hot few days, but we finally put the finishing touches on what everyone has known as the T-ball field to this point. We extended the back stop, relocated and rebuilt the team benches, built dugouts, cut a few rows of sod to get the outfield line away from the bases a little more, and I’m sure there’s more. It looks like a completely different field now. Huge thanks to Jeff Chambers, Leslie Chambers, Stephanie Wright, and the rest of the Sportscape family. Also huge thanks to OJ Sancho, Devon, Elliot Vrana, Shawn Conley (Shannon Green Turf Farm), Dani Flege Clymer, Courtney Flockerzie, Dave Flockerzie and Jessica.

If you’re around this weekend you should drop by the fields. Twenty-six teams from all over Ohio will be coming to Milford Center for our Ponytail Express travel tournament. Going to be a lot of good softball all weekend.

Reminder Fall Softball registration is open through this Sunday 7/12. You can register at FSBA.online. Registration is capped at 13 girls for each division, so don’t wait to register. After 13 girls will be waitlisted and if we get enough for a second team in the division we will remove them from the waitlist.

We just received information for this year's Rock the Clock event. This year Rock the Clock will donate $15/hour for every volunteer that signs up to help with one of the roles during the event. In addition to earning money that will be donated to FSBA you will receive a free event tshirt and free entry to the event. The event will include live music throughout the day by North to Nashville, Naked Karate Girls, Corey Smith, Lanie Gardner, and headliner George Birge. The event will take place 7/25 in downtown Plain City on Main Street in front of the Grainery. Our favorite umpire has enjoyed paddling around this last week, but he’s ready to play ball. Thanks to those of you that came out tonight and helped move water. Without you there’s no chance we’d be playing in the morning. We’ll be back out there at 6am to continue working the fields. Join us at 8am for a pancake breakfast, followed by Tball games kicking off at 9am, and softball games at 10am. “A” field will have games going every two hours through 8pm. Stop by the concession stand from 10am-9:30pm to get loaded pork nachos thanks. Walk over to Main St at 1pm to watch a lot of our teams participate in the Milford Center Memorial Day parade.

Found our buddy on Tball field this morning. He’s excited to kickoff the season. Unfortunately we don’t think the kids will share the same excitement wading through the water, so today’s games are cancelled. Good news is it’s only two days until our Memorial Day celebration. Join us at 8am for a pancake breakfast and stick around to watch the tball kids kick their season off at 9am, 10am, and 11am.
