A Michigan Democrat state representative has announced she won’t run for reelection because her Christian faith is incompatible with remaining in her party, particularly considering its stances on social issues.

“For me, it is impossible to be a faithful follower of Jesus Christ while remaining a member of the Democratic Party as it exists today. I cannot reconcile that platform with Scripture,” Rep. Karen Whitsett told a local news outlet on Monday.

“I will not be seeking reelection for this office, and I will not be running for any office ever again,” she added. “This is not a political calculation—it’s a spiritual decision.”

Been training a mule. I don’t have great experience with mules but the same principles apply to them as to horses. A mule can kick better!

A prayer I wrote 8 years ago

Dale's prayer this morning:

"Dear Lord,

Don't let your enemies prevail in this up and coming election. Let those that are hostile toward you and your ways get confused and dumbfounded. Help the righteous prevail so that your justice can be established upon the earth and that your will be done.

Let those who call upon your name not see thru a glass darkly but to see clearly. As we see the light, help us do what is right.
In all we ask, may your name be glorified, so that your name will be honored among the nations of the earth.
So that even your enemies will exclaim: " surely God has done this! "

Lord we ask for protection from terrorist attacks. Lord, protect Israel from your enemies. Lord help us as Americans to love each other! Help us mend our ways, to repent of ignoring you and having an ungrateful heart.

Give us hope and faith in you as a people and a nation..Amen

Amen"

I branded a horse today. The brand is copied from my uncle Sonny who had it registered in Colorado and passed it on to his son Jimmy.

Since Texas is its own jurisdiction I could legally register it as my own. It is such a simple and easy brand to apply. Why brand? The horse in the picture is a grey Arabian and many Arabs come that color. He is named after Speak John , a famous Thoroughbred. But..since he doesn’t seem to be able to articulate that , he needs a distinguishing mark. The brand would be described as 2 inverted U.

This is a tribute to Dr. Elliott Plese a professor of mine at Colorado State University. He had sense of humor but he was a great teacher of physiology of exercise. He teamed with Arthur Jones the inventor of Nautilus weight training system and helped train Casey Viator to a Mr. Universe title at age 19.

The first day of class he handed out these cards. 50 plus years later I still have mine. In Proverbs it says if you walk with wise men you will be wise! Thanks Dr Plese, RIP.
