Former president, board member, shooter and organizer, Guy Johnson has passed away at 72. Guy was instrumental in steering the Milan Rifle Club from a strictly conventional, competitive shooters club, to the multi-discipline venue we enjoy today. Our condolences to his family. Guy signed my membership card when I joined MRC 40 years ago.

A little while back, Springfield Armory asked the MRC Board if they might use the Club to video some footage for a new 1911 EMP handgun. Included in this release is some of that footage. Enjoy.

We don't post obits for every Milan Rifle Club member who passes, but some have touched so many in the shooting community that we feel obligated to do so. John Campbell was one of those. He got more out of his membership than any person we can remember. He used to load his highpower equipment on a sled and go down the hill to shoot in the dead of winter, using Mobile 1 as his gun oil so they worked at arctic temperatures. There were jokes about him actually living at the club. He shared his knowledge and helped many shooters of various skill levels to be better shooters and competitors. He will be missed.

It is with great sadness that the Board of Directors announces the passing of our Vice President, John Miller. His love for the club is undeniable and his willingness to jump in with both feet on any club project and see it through to completion is legendary. It is impossible to be at the club and not be impacted by something that John was the driving force in getting accomplished. The entire club membership will never be able to thank or show our appreciation enough to John for all his efforts. John, rest in peace and rest assured that you are sorely missed.

In keeping with state and local protocol, the Milan Rifle Club is cancelling all events of 10 or more people thru April (this includes all competitions, formal practices, and any other gatherings), at which time we will reevaluate the situation. The club is still open to individual members but we ask that members practice "social distancing", good hygiene, and common sense when using the facilities. This decision was made by the Milan Rifle Club Board of Directors.

Just a friendly reminder that centerfire rifles are NOT allowed on the walled ranges. Please read your range rules and the signs posted on each range.

On Sunday August 20th about 3-4pm my wife and I were shooting on the left side (by the shed) of the Bench rest and 2 other gentlemen were in the same part. My wife accidentally placed your staple gun in our tote, thinking it was mine. I apologize! Messafe me if you know the people please, so I can get it back to them. They were shooting ar15's at the 25 yd line. One guy was very muscular and we were talking about the rapid fire trigger he was using. And then... 20 minutes later cleaning my stuff, I found something else she accidentally place with my stuff. We can use that for a check :) — feeling sorry.
