Update: Been getting several questions about the current situation with the car this year. Well….I’ve found several serious issues with the engine. Specifically the heads, and valve train. Kept finding excessive lash with 5&7 intake rockers after setting them and rechecking after 30 seconds of run time. Found that intake rocker stand is bent in the shape of a horseshoe when removed therefore with all the tension bolted to the head the stand pulled all the threads out of the inserts of the head. (Wondered why the stands had been welded). A great portion of all the threads for any hardware that bolts to the heads (intake, rockers stands, etc etc) were absolutely destroyed. Most held in place with large amounts of silicone. Intake bolts that were way too long and hitting the pushrods for the intake valves, 5 destroyed lifters, and a few mis matched and odd length pushrods. I do believe that the pushrods started out as same length when new but after being hammered to s**t that was no longer the case. Heads are being repaired, parts are on the way and we will be back out at some point this season. Thought we were fast with 6 cylinders??! Wait til I having it breathing thru all 8!!!!
