We hope everyone had a great week! 💗 As we head into the Labor Day weekend, we hope you all have a chance to relax, recharge, and enjoy some well-deserved time with family and friends.

But before we head into the weekend, let’s learn a little dance fact! 🩰

You’ve probably heard our dancers say “plié” more times than you can count—but did you know the word is French for “bending”? 🇫🇷

A brand new week means brand new opportunities to learn, grow, challenge ourselves, and have a little fun along the way.

Whether you’re stepping into the studio for your first class of the week or heading into another busy school week, remember: you don’t have to be perfect—you just have to show up and give it your best. ❤️

Hi, Dance Families!

Our brand-new TDDC backpacks have started arriving, and I am so excited for you to see them!

When I traveled to New York with Zoë for dance, I became obsessed with tactical-style backpacks. When her dance shoes wouldn’t fit inside, we were able to attach them to the outside with a carabiner—and I immediately realized how useful that could be for our dancers!

These backpacks can be customized in so many fun and practical ways. You can attach shoes, charms, carabiners, small accessory pouches, water bottles, and more. I have already purchased little pouches for Zoë’s backpack and mine to hold things we need to grab quickly, like car keys, headphones, and other small essentials.

I also love that these aren’t limited to dance. With a traditional dance backpack, families may feel like they can’t reuse or resell it once their dancer is finished bc you embroidered it!! Not anymore! With these tactical backpacks, you can simply add, remove, or change the charms and accessories to create a completely different look. Your dancer can make it as fun, colorful, simple, or personalized as they want!

The backpack is $40. I currently have a few available for purchase, and I can order more this week too! Please let me know as soon as possible if you would like one!

We are also very fortunate to have one of our dance moms, Francine, creating custom name tags for the backpacks through her business!

She offers tons of ways to personalize them, and you can contact her directly to design yours. She can also make the official TDDC tag!

To our dance families, thank you for trusting us with your dancers and for being along for the ride. We know there’s a lot that goes into making dance happen, and we don’t take your support for granted.

We’re just getting started, and we cannot wait to see where this season takes us! 💃🏽🩰✨

🎒 SCHOOL. 💃🏽 DANCE. 📝 HOMEWORK. 🔁 REPEAT.

We’re officially back in the swing of things, and we LOVE seeing our dancers back in the studio!

But with school, homework, activities and dance all happening at once, it’s important to remember that our dancers need to take care of themselves, too.

Keep those water bottles full—especially while this Oklahoma heat is still hanging around!

Make sleep a priority. Rest gives your body and brain time to recharge.

🍎 Make sure you’re fueling your body throughout those busy days.

🧘🏽‍♀️ And don’t forget to make time to simply REST. Family time, play time, relaxing and doing absolutely nothing sometimes are all part of keeping our dancers happy, healthy and ready to move!

Because being your best dancer doesn’t mean running on empty. ❤️

We want our dancers to show up ready to learn in the classroom, ready to move in the studio, AND still have enough energy left to be themselves. ✨

So dancers… consider this your official reminder:

Now…GO DRINK SOME WATER. 😂💧

She’s been teaching for 24 years, loves musical theatre, has sent approximately 1,762 emails that nobody read, and her current dance-mom stress level is best described as RHINESTONED. ✨

Official title: CEO of Making It Work—even when “it” absolutely does not want to work. Somehow the dancers get taught, the costumes get ordered, the bills get paid, and everyone ends up where they’re supposed to be…usually. ❤️🖤
