The HD Hammers are a 10U travel baseball team out of Midlothian, Virginia.

It’s been an amazing 2 years. Years filled with ups and downs. Successes and failures. Laughs and cries. When it’s all said and done, what matters is they did it as a team. Whether it was a lopsided loss, a tough day of practice, or a tournament championship, they did it together. A very special thank you to the Hit Doctor organization for giving these boys and coaches the opportunity to grow and learn. Coach Doug is one of the toughest, but fairest in the business. We are all thankful for him demanding the best out of all of us and we’re proud to wear his name on our chest. As many of these boys transition to Core Baseball to continue their journey, we will always remain in tight partnership with Coach Doug, continue to be coached by him and never forget our roots with Hit Doctor. For all of our followers, thank you for all the likes, comments, support and following the journey of all of our players over the last 2 years. These players felt the love and are sending it right back at ya! If you want to continue to follow us, please do it here on Instagram . But for now, with mixed emotions, we say goodbye. You can’t take a picture of commitment. If you could, it would look a lot like this. With the 10U season behind these boys, this picture tells a story of many things. Over the course of a year, these boys went from meeting each other at a pool party to champions (more than once) on the diamond. They committed to each other, their coaches, their parents and most importantly, themselves to give their best. They did just that. The showed discipline, hard work, sportsmanship, grit and determination. Through blood, sweat and tears, they conquered failure and were humbled by success. The future is bright for these 13 young men. I show great pride in their accomplishments and it was an honor to be one of the many, many, coaches that were able to help shape them over the last year. Well done Hammers! 💙⚾️

CONGRATULATIONS to Jackson, Bode, Karson and Nolan for their amazing performances in the Top Gun All Star games last weekend! 💪🏼 They all have been selected to play in the Top Gun All American games in Myrtle Beach, NC on August 29th through 31st! Their teammates and coaches could not be more proud of these 4 young men and their representation for this elite event. Good luck boys! Do us proud! 💙⚾️

GOOD LUCK to these 5 young men as they represent the Hit Doctor Organization and their teammates in the Top Gun 3-Day All Star Tournament in Rocky Mount, NC. Nolan, Landon, Bode, Karson and Jackson were individually invited over the course of the last year by Top Gun to compete in this event because of their strong performances in Top Gun tournaments throughout the year. These 5 will be battling it out on 3 different teams with kids from all over the Mid-Atlantic region. Join us in wishing these hard working young men good luck their respective teams! 💙⚾️

GOOD LUCK to Nolan Campbell and Landon Marotta who will be representing the Hit Doctor Organization in 7-day tournament at USSSA’s Space Coast Complex in Viera, Florida this week. Landon and Nolan have been selected as USSSA All American athletes by USSSA over the last 4 months. There are 3 10U teams that represent the northeastern Unites States and 17 teams representing the entire country. Landon will be playing on the Northeast Blue All American team and Nolan will be playing in the Northeast Red All American team. Please join the Hammers in wishing these two hard working young men best of luck over their next 6 days of play in this prestigious tournament! Go get em boys, do your teammates proud! 💙⚾️

Well, it’s time… We have had 12 birthday shout outs this season, and it’s time for our last. Happy 11th to our one and only catcher, Landon! Landon is without a doubt one of the biggest leaders on this team and is always keeping a smile on the other players’, coaches’ and parents’ faces. He’s a wall behind the plate, one of our most solid bats and a menace on the base paths. When Landon isn’t in the classroom or on the field (which isn’t much) he loves to fish, ride his bike, and play video games. Help the entire HD family in wishing our guy that faces the other direction on the field a big 11th birthday! 🎉🎂💙⚾️

A little late on the post, but no less meaningful. Last Friday, the boys took Rocky Mount, NC for their longest tournament ever. They played for 3 days and 5 games over a gruelingly hot weekend. They entered the tournament as an outlier, but proved they deserved to be playing in this amazing event. They were 1 of only 2 teams from Virginia and faced some stiff Carolina competition. They won 2 and lost 2 in the pool play games and earned a seat in the always difficult Gold Bracket on Sunday. They came up short in Sundays elimination first round to the team that ended up winning the whole tournament. The long days were full of unbelievable defensive plays, some lights out pitching and hard hits. They didn’t take home any hardware, but they earned some respect. Very proud of this hard working group of kids and the parents that support them! 💙⚾️

It’s Bigger Than Baseball… The Hammers traveled to Rocky Mount, NC this weekend for a grueling 3-day tournament. But that’s not what this post is about. After their 4th game, we went to grab a team dinner to get ready for tomorrow. The boys decided to hang outside and play whiffle ball while we waited for the food. After about 45 min, I see them across two parking lots, too far to yell. So I walk over there and see something that would make anyone smile. They found a group of neighborhood teenagers and a few other travel ball players and were playing a pickup game of whiffle ball. Probably 15 kids, from 10 to 15 years old. No arguing. They were using a folding chair to call balls and strikes. All smiles and laughs. I watched them play about 4 more innings before I had the heart to tell them to shop and come in to eat. Then, about 30 minutes later, I see them out of the corner of my eye shuffling down the hallway like Remember the Titans. A few seconds later, I realize they were trying to entertain some little kid, letting him lead the charge down the hallway. The kid looked like he was in a movie he was so happy. Who knows what tomorrow will bring, but this long weekend has already been a win. So proud of these boys. 💙⚾️

Conditioning Friday with Coach Court! The boys spent Friday afternoon going through a rigorous session learning running form, leg strengthening exercises and agility training with Coach Courtney. The boys were pushed hard. When I say they looked like they got out of a swimming pool when they were done, I’m not exaggerating. They were BEAT! They continue to work hard leading up to their 3-day Top Gun State Tournament in Rocky Mount, NC next weekend. 💙🏃‍♂️🏋️⚾️

Happy 11th Birthday to our oldest and fastest, Izzy! (Or Isaiah as he prefers during awards ceremonies 😂). Izzy is definitely the one the brings the most silent smiles to the team. If we are having a bad game or practice and Izzy is smiling, everything is better. Izzy is also one of the most exciting players to watch on the team. When he gets on the base, you know you are going to see something special. When he’s not flashing the leather at 2nd or stealing home on unsuspecting pitchers, Izzy enjoys swimming and hanging with his 3 sisters. As a team, the Hammers players and their families would like to wish eternal peace and thanks to the over one million warriors that have paid the ultimate price for us to live the way we do. We know that one million service members killed in combat and non-combat related deaths translates to tens of millions of family members and friends a that are still living in sorrow and sadness. During our celebrations today to celebrate what you have provided us, we will not lose hold of the gift that you continue to give us every day. ❤️🇺🇸
