Vision was started with one goal in mind… to support each girls “vision” for the game. To support and respect that each girl plays ball for a different reason and none of those are greater than the next. Some want to play in college, some need softball to get through the tough teenage years, some just need their friends and a yellow ball… are are important and therefore Vision began. It has been one hell of a ride. I have some girls who have been with me most of their young lives, I have some newer that became family, and several that picked up routinely when they could. When my daughter quit playing all of my adopted kids helped fill that hole in my heart. While it was never the same, it was so needed and I am forever thankful for it.

But like all good things, there comes an end. With a heavy heart, I have decided to step away from the travel ball world as a coach and focus on my family. It is time that I give them all of the love, the hours, the money, and the brain power that I have poured into this team and Mayhem over the last 8 years. Travel ball isn’t for the weak, coaching is the hardest and most rewarding job if you are brave enough to take it on. I am so thankful for the families who have trusted me with their children over the years, many of which don’t play for me anymore but will still run up and hug me with a big “Coach Christie!!!” As I brace for impact. I have seen so much good and so much ugly over the years, the stories are endless. People can be ruthless and down right awful… but if your heart is in it you just keep on going. I have zero regrets for forming Mayhem 8 years ago and for sure no regrets for the 2 years as Vision when we restarted.

My heart is heavy tonight for sure but you have to know when it’s time to walk away. And that time has come for me.

And I guess we will let Coach Papa retired now too 🤪 he has been coaching in some form for over 50 years now…. He has earned his keep!

I wish all of you well and give em hell out there on the ball field girls! My heart will always be with you no matter where you go. 🩷

Congratulations to our MVP winners in pool play this weekend.

Zakayla Smith : Z had 2 💣s in two different pool games and came in clutch all weekend with her bat and held down 3rd base!

Yanari Dominguez : Yanari has always been a no fly zone left fielder for us, nothing changed there this weekend! If you were hitting to left she had you out! Her bat was also on 🔥 this weekend! She had great hits resulting in multiple RBIs, leading her team!

Elena Martin : this was Elena’s first tournament back with us since she started HS ball and has been busy on the basketball court but she brought just the s***k and speed we needed! It’s hard to throw her out the girl can move!

Carissa Barnes : Carissa held it down on the mound this weekend and when she wasn’t leading us there she took over centerfield and played lights out! She is one tough girl, pushing through heat and finding a way to get the strike outs or produce ground ball outs for her team!

Graylen Sanchez : Graylen is always a spark to the lineup and a true utility player! Unfortunately she fell ill on Saturday and couldn’t finish out the weekend, but we hope she is on the mend and we sure missed her!

Proud of all of you! Way to go girls!

They did it… and they finally did it the easy way!
Not without some hiccups and some high blood pressure moments 😂

A good portion of these girls are still 14u eligible so even though we had a sloppy Friday, taking on silver bracket in 16u was still an accomplishment. It was HOT! But our bats bats were hotter! For the first time in 8 years these girls went undefeated in their bracket and took home the championship.

Imagine what they could do if they practiced together 🤪😂

So proud of every single girl. And a HUGE shout out to our #10 Zenaida Garza today. She took a bad hop off the first at bat and ripped her fingernail off. She was our 3rd batter and we had no subs..,. That girl got taped up, and batted one handed with her weak hand and put the ball in play and got on base twice! The definition of tough and taking one for the team.
**update… not only did that girl bat with her finger busted open it turns out it was broke in two places🫣 what a tough kid!

Oh Goliath…. It can sure test you in all the ways!

These girls played 5 games yesterday and to say it wasn’t our day was an understatement. It was a rough rough showing and they landed themselves in the silver bracket… but we had a hard team conversation and decided to reset and come back today fighting.

5 more games today… 1 pool and 4 bracket games. They became a team today, they communicated and took on the “pass the bat” mentality. Undefeated in their bracket, they fought tooth and nail today.

They have earned a spot in the championship tomorrow at 12:30.

I am beyond proud of their fight today. What a fun group of girls. ❤️

8 years in… another Goliath ❤️

The girls hit the field in Lubbock this weekend to take on the Goliath 8GG. A tournament that will for sure put you to the test in all the ways, mentally, physically and emotionally (parents too 🤣🤪)

We would like to wish Miss Zenaida Garza a very happy 15th birthday!

Zenaida “Z” is such a wonderful young lady with a heart of gold, a smile that radiates and you just can’t help but to smile back at, and wears her heart on her sleeve. There is no one harder on Z than Z is, she works hard and expects a lot out of herself and we love being able to coach her through it all.

I’d like to wish our #33 Angelina ‘Gina’ Esparza a happy 14th birthday!

There isn’t a kid that works harder than Gina does. She has always been our baby but has never backed down from the challenge. She is a coaches dream… always stepping up, playing wherever she is needed and filling in the gaps no matter what it is! I’m pretty sure if I said “Gina I NEED you to pitch” (she might look at me like I’m crazy) but she would give it her best shot with a smile on her face 🤣

She has recently became our starting catcher and holds it down back there, she stepped in BIG time this weekend at short stop, and leads her team wherever I ask.

Gina it has been such a pleasure to watch you grow up from the little girl in these pictures to the beautiful young lady you are today. Keep shining in all the things you do and follow your heart and Gods guidance in your life. We love you big girl!

The girls had a great day of ball today. Lots of great hits, great plays, laughter and a day of enjoying the game they all love to play. This group was a lot of fun to be around.

Thanks to all the new friends we made this weekend for helping us out and big shout out to the Gladiators for always being fun to play against and just all around great fun people and girls. ❤️ always a pleasure playing against those girls and their coaches!
