Sammie’s mom made a post today. This is what she said. My heart is full. ❤️

It would be so easy to keep her next to me, safe from all the questions & judgment that autism brings. It would be easier to stop her from trying to do things that neurotypical kids do especially when she must work 100x harder to master & understand them. It would be easy to never show Midland MI that kids with autism can not only ride horses, but compete for a place on the podium. Yes, it would be easy to stay invulnerable and unexposed. But you see Stephanie Talbot Letzkus and Sammie don't do "easy"- because being "easy" never changed the world.

Tomorrow’s the BIG day!!!! Our very own rider, Sammie, is going to do her first show. Thank you BCFYE Summer Twilight Series for putting in an EWD (equestrians with disabilities) class. This is the first local show series in the tri city area to do this!!! AMAZING!
Help us cheer our dynamic duo on, Sammie is a 13 year old girl on the autism spectrum, she started riding last October and her partner in crime is CB Rhumba Man aka Larry a 24 year old quarter horse with 1.5 ears. Bay City Fairgrounds @6:00.
