It is estimated that we did well over 600 transitions between the eight riders. It was a lot of work for the crew and riders, but it allowed us to keep our pace over 19 mph the entire way across America. Here Rosie and Michelle cross wheels beautifully, allowing the pace to remain high while the new rider heads out on their pull.

It took us 6 1/2 days to ride from Oceanside, CA to Annapolis, MD. Along the way, we saw breathtaking sunsets in the crazy hot desert of eastern California, the colorful red rocks of Arizona, the eastern foothills of the Colorado Rockies, the endless plains of Kansas, the humid hills of Missouri, the beautiful farmland of Ohio, and the oh-so-close-to-home roads of southern Pennsylvania.

Every sunset meant a long night ahead on dark, quiet roads. But it also meant one large step closer to home and to our family and friends in Annapolis.

We hope you can join us at our final event, February 23 at Soul in Annapolis. We look forward to celebrating our Race Across America finish back in June, but even more so, we look forward to celebrating the donations we can make to three incredible charities who are making a difference in this world through the power of a bicycle.

How's this for a ?! Andrea, Lisa, and Erin rode in the inaugural Anne Arundel County Lifeline 100 Century Ride last year, one of our very first team training rides for Race Across America. Many of our racers and crew will be riding in the event again this year...can you join us?! Want to jam like a girl? Please check out our favorite girl band (ok, there is one boy), Guava Jelly! They are playing Friday, August 28 (5pm-8pm) at Coconut Joe’s Happy Hour in Edgewater.

Come relax, have some appetizers and a drink on deck while the kids play on the Pirate ship playground. Great for families!

Guava Jelly is an acoustic trio based in Annapolis playing a great mix of reggae, pop, rock and country.

Our thoughts and prayers go to our fellow RAAM racer and friend, Sarah Matthews, along with the entire Velaroos family. Sarah is a true fighter with a beautiful spirit and we have no doubt she will make a strong and quick recovery. We are thinking of you and sending our love, Sarah!
