Why athletes should be doing BOTH sport and training.
If you want to be a successful and stay healthy, you can’t rely on sport alone.
Sport is the game: skills, decisions, and competition
Training is the engine: strength, speed, power, mobility, and body control
And the research is pretty clear: strength training can cut sports injuries to less than a third and nearly halve overuse injuries. That’s massive.
We also know that neuromuscular training, such as deceleration, balance, and stability, can reduce lower body injuries by around 25-30% in youth and team sport athletes.
So, in-season we’re not trying to ‘crush’ you. We’re reinforcing strength, sharpening movement quality, and keeping your body resilient to the chaos of sport, while finding areas to progress.
Bottom line: play your sport…. AND build the athlete year-round. That’s how you perform better and stay on the field💯
