HUSKIES ADD ANOTHER STATE PODIUM FINISH ON DAY 2

The Cardinal Huskies continued their strong showing at the OHSAA State Track & Field Championships on Friday.

Sophomore Mason Thistlethwaite earned a 7th-place finish in the Division V Boys 100-Meter Dash, securing a spot on the state podium and earning All-Ohio honors. Even more impressive, Mason was the only underclassman in the 100-meter finals, competing against a field made up entirely of upperclassmen.

Junior Olivia Krebs followed up her state podium finish in the shot put with another strong performance, placing 10th in the Girls Discus against one of the top fields in the state.

I am so proud of this team and their accomplishments!!

The Cardinal Huskies concluded Day 1 of the OHSAA State Track & Field Championships with an outstanding performance and our first state placer of the meet.

Competing against the best throwers in Ohio, Olivia rose to the occasion on the biggest stage of the season. She shattered her previous personal best by nearly two feet, launching a throw of 41’3” to earn a 4th-place finish in the State of Ohio. Achieving such a significant personal best at the state meet is a testament to her mindset and continued growth as an athlete. With another year ahead of her, the future remains incredibly bright.

Sophomore Mason Thistlethwaite advanced to the state finals in the 100-meter dash, recording a time of 11.27 in the preliminary round. Mason will compete tomorrow afternoon with an opportunity to earn a place on the state podium.
