We are very excited to host our first annual Middlebury Little League Fall Ball season! An email was also sent out with this information; please share with anyone who might be interested!!!!
Once again, thank you for your support and patience with us as we worked through the process.
We are going to keep registration open until August 23rd with the season slated to begin the week after Labor Day. Players will be divided into teams by August 28th. Age, skill level, and positions will be taken into consideration per team to have them as even as possible. Coaches will then be given their teams and be in contact with you. Please share this information as we are very excited about this opportunity for our future Raiders!
In our attempts to make this experience as productive as possible and based on the interest we have received, we are going to be offering the following divisions:
• Machine Pitch Baseball
• Minor Kid Pitch Baseball
• Major Kid Pitch Baseball
• Junior Baseball
• Softball (Developmental League – all ages)
We are asking for $20 per player for the Baseball league to help cover field maintenance, umpires and concessions.
We are not asking for a fee currently for the softball as it is a developmental league. Donations can be made if desired which can go towards field improvements.
BASEBALL
Teams will have one (1) practice and one (1) game each week. Coaches within each division will have the opportunity to set their own practice schedule but games will only occur on Sundays.
Games will be 90 minutes or seven innings, whichever comes first. Scores will be kept promoting healthy competition. We will not be focused on winning; no trophies/medals will be handed out. We want to focus on a fun and productive experience. Uniforms will not be ordered for this Fall Ball Season, instead we ask that proper baseball attire be worn. On gameday’s your team will be given a designation of “Light” or “Dark” for their uniform color. We know there are always concerns about umpires, we are working with Goshen College to have their baseball players come out and umpire the games!
Again, the season will begin following Labor Day to allow families an opportunity to enjoy a long holiday weekend. Once the season has begun, we will complete seven (7) weeks, taking us to the end of October.
SOFTBALL
We are committed to the cultivation of fastpitch softball in our area. We acknowledge enrollment has declined in the recent years, but we are excited to announce a new era of Middlebury Softball, one which see us partnering with Goshen College to assist in the development of our young female athletes! Those interested in participating in this fall will have a seven (7) week developmental league that will promote skill development over competition. Those who signed up for this league will experience competition on Sundays, but it will be far more developmental than a true 9 vs 9 game.
