Longwood Youth Lacrosse

Longwood Youth Lacrosse LYL is a non-profit organization which is part of Longwood Youth Sports Association (LYSA). Lacrosse was started in 2000 and has been going strong since.

The goals of Longwood Youth Lacrosse is to help develop players and their fundamentals to be able to excel at the next level, to provide a fun environment so the kids are able to learn and love the fastest game played on two feet and ultimately make them better people. Our program offers play all year with our main season being played in the Spring. Winter and Summer leagues are available upon req

uest and availability. Field and gym time are offered all year round to allow our kids to keep their sticks in their hands and develop a love for such a wonderful game. Longwood Youth Lacrosse has had countless student athletes go onto college and excel both on and off the field. We have had players play at all college levels. Many of our athletes have won National Championships, Conference Championships, along with countless of individual awards.

In following the directives of Longwood Central School District, LYSA will not be practicing or playing games until this situation is re-evaluated. A letter from LYSA will be released shortly. We are planning for a delayed start to our season. We are all ready to go as soon as we get the ok!

...and NOW FOR THE GIRLS
Hello Suffolk County Girls Lacrosse Community. We regret to inform you that we are postponing the start of the 2020 Spring Season until further notice. We will monitor the current situation on a weekly basis and share further details when this terrible situation is under control.

If we are able to start the season, we will do so with as much notice as possible so teams can be prepared and get some practice in. It is our expectation that teams will not be practicing and will follow their school district instructions regarding group activities.

This is a decision that was not taken lightly, but like many other organizations it is the prudent thing to do to do our part to keep everyone safe and minimize any further spread of the virus.

THIS APPLIES TO ONLY THE BOYS AS OF NOW!

The Suffolk County PAL Lacrosse Board has been in contact with the Nassau County PAL Lacrosse Board and US Lacrosse about the proper course of action in regards to dealing with the Corona Virus. Our number 1 concern has been and will always be the safety and well being of our players, coaches, officials and families. With this in mind, at this time both the Suffolk County PAL Lacrosse Board and the Nassau County PAL Lacrosse Board have decided to delay the start of our seasons until Sunday April 19th.
