Welcome to 4C, Aalycia Figueroa is a high-IQ, high-motor guard who impacts the game on both ends of the floor. Defensively, she has the potential to become an elite on-ball defender. She embraces the challenge of guarding 94 feet, applying relentless pressure for the entire game. She moves her feet exceptionally well, understands help-side positioning, and consistently puts herself in position to disrupt plays and make an impact on the ball. Her defensive ability and versatility should give her multiple avenues to make an impact at the next level.
Offensively, Aalycia is equally effective with or without the basketball. She moves well off the ball, understands spacing, stays ready to make plays off the catch, and sees the floor at a high level. Her speed and quick first step make her dangerous attacking downhill and closing out defenders, consistently putting the defense at a disadvantage.
What separates Aalycia is that she doesn’t need the ball in her hands to impact winning. She is coachable, unselfish, and committed to playing team basketball. At the same time, she possesses the tools, basketball IQ, and decision-making ability to manage a game with the ball in her hands when needed. Her motor, defensive upside, versatility, and willingness to do whatever the team needs make her an exciting next-level prospect with significant upside.
