Hi Micanopy Babe Ruth Families!
It’s time for the Micanopy Fall Festival, and our league needs YOUR help! This year, Micanopy Babe Ruth is responsible for running the festival auction, along with hosting a booth where we’ll make buttons and sell water and cotton candy. We have several two-hour volunteer shifts available on Saturday, October 31, and Sunday, November 1, and we need families to pitch in to make this weekend a success!

Our league is made up of approximately 45–50 kids and their families, yet year after year, the bulk of the volunteer work falls on the same 7–10 dedicated people who have kept things running for our league for years. We are incredibly grateful for their commitment, but our league cannot continue to thrive if the responsibility rests on the shoulders of the same small group of volunteers. We need everyone to contribute where they can.
Why does volunteering matter?
Micanopy Babe Ruth is about so much more than baseball and softball. It’s about teaching our kids teamwork, responsibility, commitment, and what it means to be part of a community. When our children see their parents and families volunteering, they learn that being part of a team means showing up for one another, both on and off the field.
The money we raise through events like the Fall Festival directly benefits our players and families. These funds help us:
Keep registration costs down so more children can participate.
Pay umpires so our kids can play organized games.
Provide full uniforms for our players.
Offer scholarships to families who need financial assistance.
Replace and update equipment to keep our kids safe and supported.
Stock our concession stand, another important source of league funding.
Every two-hour shift makes a difference. Every bottle of water sold, every button made, and every auction bid helps support our kids and the future of our league.
We know everyone has busy schedules, but we’re asking each family to consider giving just a couple of hours this weekend. You don’t have to be an experienced volunteer or take on a huge responsibility. You simply need to show up, lend a hand, and be part of the team.

If every family contributed even a little, the workload would be shared, our volunteers would have more support, and our kids would all benefit.
Let’s show our kids what it means to be a team, support our community, and give back to the league that gives them so much.
