Luke's basketball camp isn't only about the drills, the competitions, the friendships or even all the interactions with Luke himself — this camp has something other camps lack...a Special Game. Without a doubt, the special needs basketball game is a key element of the Luke Kennard Basketball Camp.
For a little while, the scoreboard doesn’t matter. What matters are the smiles, high-fives, laughter and pure joy of everyone sharing the court together. It’s a powerful reminder that basketball is about so much more than competition...it’s about friendship, inclusion and making everyone feel like part of the team.
This game brings out the very best in every player and camper involved. It’s a moment filled with encouragement, kindness and memories that will last far beyond camp...and cheers that will echo beyond d the gym walls.
The special needs game (and halftime dunk contest) is truly the heart of the Luke Kennard Basketball Camp, and we’re grateful to everyone who helps make it such an unforgettable tradition. Here are a few photos from that special game!
